My 1 year old kitten is losing fur on his legs and belly. I've noticed that he is always licking the balding area. If you know why he would be doing this and how to prevent any further hair loss I 'm very interested.
Thanks Bryan

Hi Bryan, I don't know alot about cats so I asked a rescue lady that deals with them, and she gave me these links for you to take a read through.

I've seen this kind of overgrooming caused by stress. Has anything changed in your home? Any new pets, or people? Any stray cats hanging around your doors or windows?

He needs to go to the vet to see if he has any parasites. If not, you may need some meds to modify his behavior and break him of this habit, which is similar to us biting our nails.

Before any meds, please seek out all alternatives. Make sure you 100 % trust your vet. If you do not have a vet now, ask a large variety of people for recommendations, access rescue message boards where you are and ask about personal experiences with whatever vet you are thinking about seeing. If you need help in finding message boards in your vicinity, ask, someone here will help!

Alot of problems can be helped without meds.
