It seems there is nothing I can personally do at the moment to help stop the legislative process other than emailing, phoning, signing petitions as I have done...

I want to help out in a REAL way.

I am interested in adopting a pit bull puppy. Anyone know of any in need?

Thanks for joining in on this fight against the BS that is BSL!

From what I understand, there are LOTS of Pit Bulls in shelters cross the GTA. I was just at the THS website and there were TONS of them :(

Might want to check out Toronto Animal Services as well.

Definitely go to the OSPCA shelters. Unfortunately, they appear to be getting more and more every day. We'd gladly get another one, but we (may) have our first child on it's way, and aren't sure we can handle two dogs, two cats, and a kid!

I think every dog owner should be involved in this fight because our breed could be next. Great that you are jumping on the bandwagon. I really think we need to still jam their emails every day and let them know that we are not backing down and the media is starting to jump off their rat infested ship and joining the one with the experts and facts that can be backed up.

I agree, Mastifflover. I'm not a dog owner at all, but I would love to help in any way I can, and I've always loved pitbulls.

Bama , My wife did some checking today . THS has one 10month old but no puppies , further checking in york , durham region and gerogina revealed that no one other than Toronto had any pits left . She was directed to etobicoke and is awaiting a callback, try them . But remember if you are not a dog owner now pits have special needs that being said it is really nothing more than obiediance training and love .

If you are willing to come down to the Niagara area.... I know there are a few here. We saw a puppy, a VERY cute pup I think only like 10weeks old. Was dumped at the Welland HS, she is a Pit.
You should also try actually calling the shelters, I know from one of the SPCA workers that they generally don't advertise that they have the really small Pits, as sometimes it attracts the wrong kind of person.
They have a 9mnth old at Niagara Falls HS, and a GORGEOUS 5mnth old little PitX girl (Sophie). www.niagarafallshumanesociety.com
