cut off time for resume?

If a job posting says today is the cut off for submitted a resume, do you think they mean by 5 pm, or by midnight?

It varies by company or place of employment. Can you ask them?

Their add said "no phone calls please" so probably not.

I am still finishing my cover letter. No hurt in trying right?

By no phone calls, it probably means not to call to apply, but for a gerneral question, it may be ok.

You can always send it anyway but I do some HR for a hospital board and it usually means by 5 P.M. But you could always try emailing the resume (Can you do that?) or mailing it on that day. If you use snail mail, at least the post mark will indicate when you sent it.

it really should not matter much, if they are closing at 5pm say, any resume you email them until the next morning will be read with all those mailed at 5pm.

Oh. They are only accepting them by e-mail and PDF format.
