Hi Pets.ca,
I've lurked on and off for a long time on this forum and now I hope I can get some advice or experience. My male black lab was fixed at 6 months but every once in a while I catch him trying to do it with a pillow in the living room. Its weird for sure and I don't know if I should just laugh about it or prevent him from doing this. Any advice on this situation?
Thank-you
Winston

No advice but to laugh!:laughing: my labbie does this ONLY to her bed but she wont stop. She is fixed. My other boy did it as well. A vet told me once that they never loose the urge!
Oh thanks for joining and not lurking anymore!! Welcome :thumbs up

My boy has a sex toy. :) When the humping on dirty laundry piled on the floor started at 9 weeks old I went to Goodwill and bought him a big teddy bear. Poppa Bear was bigger than he was at the time. Humping Poppa is not only allowed, it's encouraged. My boy is six now and has never humped anything else, not dogs, not furniture or people legs, nothing. When company comes Poppa can be hidden in a closet. He can be washed in the laundry.
If you do this pick a toy for your pup as carefully as for a child. Eyes and noses can come off and be swallowed. Our Poppa has had rhinoplasty, LOL. Some stuffed toys have a filling that can be lethal if a dog eats too much of it.
No guarantees, we might just have been lucky that our boy, also a black Lab, never humped anything else. :)

LOL everyone :) I feel much more comfortable now. Thanks for your information and I think that I will let Duke continue his love affair with the pillow but I will hide that pillow when guests come around.
