The Vancouver Province is asking for comments on the controversy over the
Greater Vancouver Zoo's acquisition of a new hippo. The hippo was acquired
despite the zoo's failure to build a long-promised new hippo facility. The
Vancouver Humane Society and Zoocheck Canada have called on the zoo to
transfer its hippos to a better facility elsewhere.
