Demetane is looking to be adopted :)

October 20th, 2004, 03:10 PM
This is Demetane. He's 4 years old, neutered, vaccinated and de-clawed on all four paws. He thrives on attention and is a lap cat. He is located in Montreal and an adoption fee does apply. If you are interested in him, contact

is this cat all black? if so, please don't give him away until halloween, there are so many satanistic people who are seeking for solid black cats to sacrifice them at this time of the year...

He's not black :) He's completely gray, just the lighting in the picture makes him look black. We don't adopt out black cats during the Halloween month, it's a policy we have. :)

Someone declawed him on all four paws and dumped him anyway?? Sorry if it was legit but ppl are mean!!!

Listen people aren't going to spend $100 on a cat just to kill it, I have friends who you would call satanistic as close mind people would call them and they don't kill cats and if someone was going to they go looking for a stray and not something they have to buy. also when I was with chatocat there was no such policy about this time of year and the same goe's with around x-mas time.. what's change?

Alot has changed since. We don't adopt out black cats at all during the October month and we won't hold Adoption Days during December. We don't allow people to adopt cats as "gifts" to other people. Sometimes new policies have to be implemented, it's an ongoing process. Follow-ups are done now, home visits are a complete must and landlords are called . Since these new things have been implemented, things run alot smoother now. I'm happy with the outcome and so are the people who have adopted from us.

Sneaky, nothing surprises me anymore. We finally had to put our foot down and we no longer take in surrendered cats. We can work with people to find homes for their cats, but only if they are willing to keep them until this happens. I also send them a small brochure about how to re-home their pet.

I had actually read somewhere that satanic people sacrifice white animals, as white means pure. Black often is considered evil. I'll have to find the website again. Received another thing in my e-mail about this same thing, so I think I will be adding white cats as well to the policy.

Just wanted to comment on this. If people will pay 600$ for a purebred cat at a pet store, another couple hundred to declaw it and then dump it at the SPCA, 100$ isn't that much.:(

If some sick person is going to kill a cat... there not going to buy one and any time something like this has happen it's always been a stray who wasn't so lucky to trust a person like that.

There's a really creepy place here, odd enough we call Spook Lane... we used to drive there as teens, it was known as a place that would sacrifice animals, a cult of some sort. It was common to hear about them sacrificing only albino animals including some albino deer in the nearby fields. That place still freaks me out! :(

Wow Sneaky, that place sounds freaky. I know these type of things happen, I'm not naive about it that's for sure. I just wish people would get fined, actually jail time sounds better. I remember a case when I lived back home. A man had a puppy mill in his backyard. The HS was called and the puppies and dogs were taken from him. Always a slap on the wrist. He would just go and get another free dog somewhere and breed it. Finally, after the 3rd time of getting caught, he was fined and spent 4 months in jail. He was also on probation for 1 year, supervised. He had to do public service work and they put him at the HS, just so he would see first hand what happens to the puppies he sells. Apparently it was a turning point for him. He still volunteers at the HS (even though his PS work is over), he doesn't own any animals and he's pushing to have it a no-kill HS. I only know he's still there because my best friend of 18 years is the secretary there and of course we are in constant contact :)

That is a great story (well not in the beginning but you know what I mean!) You should put that in the story forum...

Yes it is very freaky... we happen to drive past that way occasionally, but we would never go down that street now cause it is/was no trespassing/private road. Being teenagers, we did it anyway and were chased out a few times with an old man with a shotgun. Yes, I know we were dumb! :)
Anyway, the last time we saw it, there was a huge pile of dirt (we're talkin higher than the car) in the middle of the road so no cars could go down... I wonder what they're doing for halloween?!
Duh, my whole point was, they chase people from either end of this road (there's none connecting in the middle) and it would be so hard to get them for something, with it being private and how they handle people who trespass.
Although, I don't even know if the whole sacrificing thing is true, but if it is, they're gonna have a hard time getting proof.
I believe bad ppl always get what's comin to them!!
