Has anyone ever dealt with an agency called "PetSelect.org"? We're looking to adopt a puppy from them, but thought we'd check for any concerns anyone has.
Thanks so much
Kathleen

I've never dealt with them, but I was under the impression from reading about them on various forums that they are a puppy mill. They are not a breeder or a rescue.

That's the impression that I have as well. By viewing the homepage it looks like they are BYB or puppy mill just pumping puppies out. I would source a better option. There are people here that can and probably will share more information about puppy mills if you like....

Thanks so much. I've seen enough puppy mills in my time (there's a reason why I quit working for the SPCA) but that's another LONG story...anyways, we're just getting ourselves prepared to get another dog, and want a puppy, and are carefully researching every option, so I may toss out a few more names before we even begin searching in earnest.
Thanks

No problem, throw out all the names you like!
What kind of puppy are you looking for? What kind do you have now?
Just wondering, maybe we can help loacting some in shelters or well known breeders...

Aw, you guys are great. There are a few known places that I won't deal with.

I will insist on seeing the dogs' living conditions, if not, no way.

We currently have a lab/mastiff/rottie mix (thus the "Bear" handle on him), and he gets along fantastically with other dogs, and we would like a second dog in our home. Bear was a rescue from my @#$%^&* neighbour who was beating him constantly, so I offered to take him. Well, that little tiny puppy with the sweetest face ever turned into a 164 lb suck. But he's awesome.

Anyways, the SPCA won't adopt to us as we have a 18 month old at home, I guess they're afraid we'll leave the child and dog unsupervised in the same room (DUH). We love large breed dogs, and are hoping for a GSD or lab mix.

I made hubby promise me that we'd get another dog as soon as we got a bigger house and yard, well, we just got the house/yard today, so the hunt begins.......

You've been awesome to a newbie, keep the info coming!
