I don't think the little girl won, but she was in the top three.
FYI . . . .
You might recognize the Millarville Racetrack, a rural facility southwest of Calgary, as a frequent set piece in the internationally syndicated CBC television series "Heartland."
The Racetrack is one of the oldest in Canada and was the first to allow for women jockey's.
It is also home to the Millarville Farmers' Market, the oldest and largest outdoor Market in southern Alberta, including Calgary. We just staged the Millarville Christmas Market last weekend, one of the largest arts & crafts shows in Alberta.
I started up the Millarville "Run To The Farmers' Market" Half Marathon last year and it was a big success. It's the only long distance race in North America that I can find that finishes at a large and active Farmers' Market. We're looking to double our runners next year.
It's a fun place to be.
