RIP Bobbie

First time on here...I just feel a little alone with losing my cat last night.
My brother had found Bobbie about 16 years ago as a stray and brought her home. They Vets thought she was around a year old. She was just the sweetest, most docile cat ever. All she wanted in her later years was to be petted and to lay out in the sun...She was a happy cat and so loving.
I've never had to make that call before where, essentially I had to make an appointment to "kill my cat"...That just sounds horrible and leaves a horrible feeling in me.
I can't get over the thought "Did I just cut her life short? Did I make the right decision?"...I didn't know when the right time was?!
And the worst part is, she has her daughter at home..Who is probably wondering "where did they take my mommy and when are they bringing her back?" It's so heartbreaking...and I can't even explain to her.
I love you Bobbie and will miss you forever...You added great joy to my life....I will see you and the others on the other side! I hope you know how much we loved you...xoxoxoox

I'm so sorry to hear about Bobbie, Monica. :grouphug: No matter how long they're with us, it never seems like we have enough time with them.

Please don't second-guess your decision. Since we can't know the future, it's impossible to tell when the 'perfect' time is. But as long as you made the decision from the heart and with Bobbie's best interest in mind, the timing can't be wrong. And Bobbie knew she was loved.

Her daughter will likely grieve some, too. It will take some time for both of you to recover, but it does happen. May your happy memories of Bobbie soon bring a smile to your lips and help heal that hole she left in your heart.

Until you meet again...
:candle: Bobbie

Please know that you are not alone in the feelings you are having now. We all have gone through that same process. I had my old dog put down last fall and went through the same feelings. It was horrible to have to pick the time to do it. But as Hazel said, we do it from our hearts for the right reasons. Our pets know we love them and don't want them to suffer. It doesn't make it any easier, but it is the kindest thing we can do and our final act of love for them to not let them suffer. The time was right for Bobbie. Her daughter will mourn, my other dog grew up thinking of the older one as her mom also. She mourned, but she and I got through it together. Give your kitty all the lovin and snuggles she can handle and you will both benefit from it.

Bobbie will wait for you at the Rainbow Bridge. She's happy there now enjoying her youth again. RIP sweet Bobbie you were well loved and will always be remembered.

I am so sorry for the lost of your dear cat. I had to put my hearing dog down and I when through the same thing. I wonder if I made the right decision , I knew in my mind I did but my heart was telling me something else. And that is where my dog is now in my heart forever, he left his paw prints in my heart .
