Does Your Dog Lose His or Her Potty Training in the First Snow?

Silly boy, we go through this every year with the first snow. He knows he is not to pee on the deck or anything on it. But with the first snow he always tries to pee against the railing or the flower planters. I think in his mind the ground and the deck are no longer differentiated by being covered in different surfaces. No longer is one grass and the other wood, now they are both snow. Therefore they are the same, therefore they may both be pee'd upon or pee'd from.

Or less the little monkey is deliberately getting me to chase him off because he knows my low cut slippers will fill up with the snow and I'll shriek? Yeah, that might be it. :)

My pooch prefers snow, when it's melting she tries so hard to find a patch to pee on. It's so funny, then she realizes it's gone. :)
