Nope, there is only one Kitty living with me. :)

How is Karlton doing these days?

Sad story about Karlton, my first ever cat baby. Since i wasn't able to keep him at my parents house, he went to go live with my boyfriend at the time's grandparents. He was there for quite a while and was doing great with the other two cats there.

Then my boyfriend and I broke up and his grandparents decided that they no longer wanted Karlton in their house because i'm not dating their grandson anymore.

My ex called me one day and declared that his father was going to come to my house and drop Karlton off there, without even discussing anything with me first. I told him that he knows very well what the situation with Karlton is, but he apparently didn't care. In case i haven't told the story, here it is:

Karlton was a semi outdoor cat that kept getting into fights with feral cats. Many times when he would come back in the house he had another fight injury and it progressively got worse each time. It was threatening his health. I begged the members of my family to please keep him indoors because it wasn't doing him any good getting hurt all the time and jeopardizing his health. Everyone IGNORED my requests saying things like "Oh, he wouldn't stop meowing, it was getting annoying, i had to let him out.", or "cats need fresh air and freedom, we don't trap you in the house".
Another big reason why he couldn't stay with me is because my brother is allergic to cats and pretty much hates cats. His solution to the problem was to take Karlton out back and execute him with a gun. This pissed me off and broke my heart. I can't believe that my own brother would do that to an animal and put his sister through such a nightmare. This was unacceptable to me, so we arranged that Karlton be moved to my ex's grandparents' place asap.

So, since i didn't know anyone that would take Karlton in and I couldn't bring him back to my parents' house, my ex's dad took him to the humane society and surrendered him. :( There was nothing i could do. I was completely helpless. I didn't even have time to say my last good-bye to him. I think about it so often and it makes me so sad that i couldn't do anything for him. I feel like i failed him. I have no idea what ever happened to Karlton. I hope he got adopted by loving owners, but i don't know that.

I graduated high school last year and moved out of my parents' house. I now live with my boyfriend. I would never dream of bringing another cat into that environment.

Well, not much I can say about poor Karlton,at least he was not shot,it seems everyone abandoned him,no wonder he was like he was:(
