I hope he's finding lots of lovely ladies to hang out with. :D Lovely pics, chico! Dee-O-Gee July 24th, 2011, 09:11 PM Wow! Stunning pictures Chico2. Colours are so vibrant! :lovestruck: chico2 July 25th, 2011, 08:51 AM Hazel, how do you know it's a male??? hazelrunpack July 25th, 2011, 09:17 AM See the black spots (one on the top of each hindwing)? The fems don't have that. Dog Dancer July 26th, 2011, 12:45 PM Hazel - you know everything!! Great pics Chico. I don't think I've seen any Monarch's out in BC since I've been here. Maybe they don't come this far West - Hazel?? I know we had them back East when I was a kid. hazelrunpack July 26th, 2011, 12:56 PM There is a small western population that winters on the west coast (California) somewhere. Here's a link about the migration routes...but they aren't very specific about where they overwinter or how far north they end up during summer: http://www.fs.fed.us/monarchbutterfly/migration/index.shtml And I only knew about the patches cuz I went to the local nature reserve's kiddy show at their Butterfly House. Marty11 July 26th, 2011, 01:03 PM BEAUTIFUL PICS :thumbs up Great photography!!!
