I have a ferral male cat who lives in our drive shed and we feed him. He got into a fight and has three badly injured legs from claws or teeth. I can't get close enough to him to catch. Before the injuries I could get close enough to pet him but now he won't come close. Is there anything I can put in his food that might help him get over these injuries since taking him to the vet is almost impossible?

Some Vets and rescues will loan or rent out a live trap. You could take him to the Vet right in the trap. We put very enticing canned food in a bowl and have learned to attach the bowl to the back of the trap because some cats, and other animals, are pretty darn smart about pulling the bowl out. We like canned food over kibble because it's smellier. Good luck.
I don't see putting stuff in his food unless you know exactly what's wrong. He may/probably need stitches.

Agreeing with Longblades. You must try to trap this poor guy. His wounds could easily abscess and become life-threatening. I take it he isn't neutered? That should also be done at the same time, and then perhaps he won't get in as many fights.
Good luck! Here are some tips that might help:
