Hi all,I'm not sure if you'll remember me but I was around in the fall of last year.My baby boy Mickey had some loose stool issues and was diagnosed with renal insuffiecy.Up till about 2 weeks ago the stool issue was under control with probiotics but it reared it's ugly head again.I gave him some pumpkin and that seemed to keep it in check.Yesterday I was finally able to get to a health food store and purchase Slippery Elm.I was just looking for any input from someone who has used it before.Should I give it to him seperate from his probiotics? With the slippery elm will he not need pumpkin anymore? Everything was going so well up till now:( I just want him to be happy and comfy.
Thanks so much for any advice you can give me.

I've given Loki slippery elm before in the past but have used it on its own, and not with pumpkin nor probiotics. It's my understanding that the slippery elm does the same thing (or is meant to) have the same effect as the probiotics?

Hi, MM. Yes I do remember you and I'm glad to hear Mickey has been doing well for so long. Please continue to use the probiotics as well, particularly since Mickey has been diagnosed with renal insufficiency.

A bit of information on slippery elm:

It is best to give the slippery elm no closer than one hour before or after giving the probiotics or any other medication or supplements he might be taking, as taking it too close together with other medications can interfere with their absorption. It's up to you if you still want to use the pumpkin. You may find that you no longer need it.

Please keep us updated.
