HI Everyone,

NEWMARKET – May is Rabies Awareness Month, and The Regional Municipality of York Community and Health Services Department is working to increase awareness of the dangers and risks associated with rabies.
In Ontario, it is mandatory that all dogs and cats over the age of three months be vaccinated against the rabies virus. To keep your pets safe, York Region Community and Health Services and the Town of Newmarket invite residents to attend a low-cost rabies clinic.

WHEN: Sunday, May 29th
10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

WHERE: Hollingsworth Arena
35 Patterson Street
Town of Newmarket

COST: $15 per animal (cash only)

Residents can have dogs and cats over three months of age vaccinated for $15 cash per animal. For the safety of pets and pet handlers, all animals must be under control on a leash or in a pet carrier.
Any pit bull terriers, staffordshire terriers or dogs that have the appearance and physical characteristics substantially similar to these dogs must be muzzled.
For more information on this or any other public health-related topic, please contact York Region Health Connection at 1-800-361-5653 or TTY 1-866-252-9933.
