My last update here

We took Thorin in yesterday for his follow-up for the bladder infection. His urinalysis showed no infection and nothing grew in the culture. His USG was very low so we had blood drawn and are sending it out to the lab. The vet thinks he may be having renal issues. He has also had a very bad cough for awhile now. They told us previously that it was kennel cough and possibly windpipe issues from his collar. They were wrong. We had xrays done. Thorin has a mass in his lung  :(
The vet is sending it to a specialist. I'm not ready to lose my soul doggie. I feel so horrible. I just can't help but think if I hadn't been so involved with Nookie, I may have been more diligent with Thorin. We have just taken his good health for granted. I'm praying that it's a localized tumor that can be removed.

Between all the issues and problems both Thorin and Nookie have, I'm about to lose it. I know we will make it through this, but it's so heart breaking to watch them go through this. I don't know why this is happening to us, but everything happens for a reason so I know I just need to continue having faith... it's just so hard.

One thing I am really sick of is the general rudeness from a very small handful of people here. I'm sure I will be banned for an earlier post, and that's fine because it's something I needed to say. It seems every time I do post lately, someone feels the need to be rude or ignorant and I just can't take it along with everything else I'm dealing with. But for those of you who have been supportive, I thank you all SO much. I couldn't have made it this far without you (and you all know who you are :)). If anyone wants to get ahold of me, there are several people here that have me on FB. As for Nookie, I will continue to give updates on FB. Take care everyone! :) :grouphug:

I am so so sorry you are going through yet more health issues with your pooches. I can totally empathize with all that you are feeling. I too felt that I had spent so much time keeping an eye on my beautiful Ginger that I might not have noticed early enough how my sweet Hobo was not doing so well. Please don't beat yourself up...there is no doubt you are doing your best.

I hope that whatever it is is manageable and that Thorinn is right as rain in no time. :goodvibes:

As for the last paragraph, I have no idea what that is all about but I do wish you and your furkds well :grouphug:

I'm so sorry to hear about Thorin Rgeurts, I'm praying that it is treatable, the whole family needs a well deserved break :grouphug:

Please don't think for one minute that you weren't paying enough attention to Thorin because of Nookie's ongoing health issues.

I hope you reconsider your decision regarding pets.ca :o

I believe this too, Rgeurts, everything does happen for a reason. And I think it just sucks that sometimes the worst things can happen to the best people. Please keep enjoying every minute you can with them and focus on all the good to help re-energize you for the difficult moments, ok? I will keep Thorin and Nookie, and you and your husband, in my prayers :grouphug:.

hopefully it is nothing serious.
and don't for 1 min blame yourself. the vets you said thought it was kennel cough and gave you no reason to think it was anything else.

It wasn't till my dogs got kennel cough, many years ago now, that we found out that Candy, a red ACD, had a mass between her heart and lungs. Her cough was non-existant before the kennel cough, but so much worse than my other sickies once she got it that I asked for an x ray. :( So maybe your vet was right and Thorin did indeed have both things, kennel cough and a tumour, just like my darling Candy. You can't know these things are developing if you aren't seeing clinical signs. I'm sorry because I know what a shock this sort of news is . Big hugs for you and Thorin.

Robyn,I don't know why anyone would be rude to you, everyone I know here luvs you,Thorin and Nookie and of course hubs.
I am really sorry to hear about Thorin, but don't ever blame yourself,we tend to do that though, when it comes to health-problems with our four-legged soulmates.

I have never heard of anyone who have dealt with as much as you and hubby, whatever reason there is for you and the puppers to go through all this hardship,it better be a good one:(

Robyn, I am so very sorry to hear about Thorin. :( :grouphug: It certainly isn't your fault as we all know how much both your boys mean to you. The vet told you it was kennel cough and windpipe issues due to his collar ....it should have been the vet thinking to investigate further at the time. I hope that the tumour can be removed and that Thorin will be alright. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

It's your decision to leave and I hope all goes well for Thorin and Nookie. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

Thank you all so very much for your concern, it truly is appreciated. :grouphug::grouphug:

And again, I don't know how I would have made it through everything that I already have without all the wonderful support and advice I have received here. But there comes a point when you just can't take anymore negativity, and I'm there. I feel bad for what I said, but only because that's not me. The person I said it to had it coming, and not only for the way she treated me, but for others who have had to deal with the same thing. :(

I may be back in the future, but for now I have enough on my plate with work and 2 sick dogs, constant vet bills and a broken heart. I don't need to feel like I'm back in high school with all the constant bickering and back-biting.

This is a link to my FB profile, feel free to add me as a friend! I will continue to give updates on both Thorin and Nookie there. Take care everyone and please know that I am SO thankful for the many wonderful people I have encountered here! :grouphug::grouphug: :)

take care Robyn
you will be much missed on the boards. I hate it when the good people leave because of the bad ones, but I totally understand.
Take care of your baby. We'll be here when/if you want to come back (I hope you do).
