Hi all, I posted on the Pets that have passed away forum last month to give a tribute to the lovely old Saint Bernard I recently lost but haven't really introduced myself. Hi!

I wanted to give the update on the adoption that I mentioned was pending. Well, it went through and we picked up our lovely old Mason on the weekend!

He is an American bulldog, about 8 years old, and had had a bit of a rough go of things. He was found as a stray, not neutered, with large tumours on his testicles and chest. A wonderful rescue pulled him from animal control, gave him the necessary medical and dental treatment and fostered him so he could recover from surgery.

I brought him home on Saturday and have him at work with me today. He seems to be adjusting quite well, even had a play date for him yesterday where he proved there isn't an aggressive bone in his body!

Mason is a lovely old boy and I'm looking forward to giving him a great retirement home for his golden years!

Thanks all! I'm really looking forward to getting to know him better. He is a little stubborn, but answers commands when there are treats involved so I know it's not his hearing!

We'll work on the stubbornness, right now my focus is socializing him well and keeping him with me so that he gets to know and trust me.

He does have hip dysplasia but is getting shots to help that and according to his foster mom, it's made quite a positive difference.

I feel like this sweet old guy hasn't had a home to call his own for a long time, so I'm looking forward to spoiling him rotten over the holidays!

Yes, that's right, this is the same Mason that is on the AARF site! You can see there how much he's been through. I think we are going to change his name - Dozer has fast become his nickname:)

AARF and all the other people involved in his rescue have just been wonderful to him, it seems like there were a lot of people pulling for this little guys' success.

It's really cute, hard not to laugh at him when he does it! He gets his lip stuck on his one bottom tooth and will stay like that for hours. He's kind of a hilarious dog, I'm loving getting to know him better!
