2nd House Visit for Noella

December 17th, 2010, 10:44 AM
So this morning, let Noella in the house so she could walk around a bit and explore.

Cats are funny critters, wish there was more info on their body language etc. like there is on dogs. She's a brave little girl, snooping around with her tail straight up. Bobee was sitting on the table watching her, hissed a few times when she came close and she gave it right back. Coco was OMG and went and hid. Nino hissed a few times and then just went and watched her from a distance. This will take some time for sure.

Mom's a bit worried but I reminded her when we had our first cat Nikki and brought Boomer home, 1st Manx, that Nikki harassed him for about 2 months before Boomer had enough. For the first while, Nikki would not let Boomer on my bed period, end of discussion. Then I think Boomer said that's it and let Nikki have it! Everything was good after that. She'll need to learn her place, hehe have a feeling being the youngest, she'll be at the bottom till she gets bigger. Ah well Bayley really seems to have taken to her, so maybe her big sister will look out for her.

Here's an interesting article:

And Dr. N. Dodman's book, The Cat Who Cried for Help: Attitudes, Emotions, and the Psychology of Cats.

And I was pleased as punch to find this: DOGS HAVE OWNERS, CATS HAVE STAFF SEMINAR DVD by one of my favorite authors/behaviorists, Patricia McConnell.

And yeah, where are the pics???

I know I'm bad with pics. I need a faster camera. It seems everytimeI click, it's too late and I miss the action. I'll see what I can get in the am, better light then.

I'll check out those articles and I'll have to get that book by Dr Dodman.

I've decided tonight that I'm just leaving the porch door open and she can come in and out. So far no major hissy fits. Heheh she was sitting on the counter with Bobee and he gave her a few hisses and raised a paw but that was it. She gave him a few good hisses a while later.

All is quiet right now, I think she's back in the porch. Oh and her poops have stopped yay!
