There are some problems even the Dog Whisperer can't solve.

An Ontario politician is up in arms because Cesar Millan can't bring his trusted sidekick, Junior, with him to the province.

The Liberal government banned pit bulls five years ago, saying the breed was too dangerous.

New Democrat Cheri DiNovo says Ontario discriminates against even the most responsible owner because of how a dog looks, not how it behaves.

She wrote an open letter condemning the government for denying the celebrated dog trainer his loyal companion as he travels Canada for a speaking tour.

Mr. Millan, host of the popular TV show The Dog Whisperer, has focused on rehabilitating aggressive dogs – often with Junior's help.

The grey-and-white pit bull, adopted as a puppy by Mr. Millan, accompanied the Dog Whisperer to all of his Canadian shows except the ones in Ontario, NDP spokeswoman Marion Nader said.

Mr. Millan was concerned that Junior – who often helps him calm aggressive dogs on his show – would be seized by authorities if he brought him into the province, she said.

Mr. Millan dedicated one episode of his show to dispel myths about breeds that are considered to be particularly aggressive, saying it's often the owner who influences a dog's behaviour.

The stupidity and ignorance of the human mind at work.

I live in a county where pit bulls have been banned sadly for over 20 years! Even with many groups now fighting to get this ban thrown out. I recall reading over the summer about a therapy dog, a famous one even though her name eludes me right now, coming to our city. She had to be granted special permission to come into the city during her state to state visit to hospitals to bring a little happiness to sick patients.

We as humans don't like to have our faults pointed out to us. Bans like these will remain until the focus is put on the owners and NOT the dogs. I'm cynical though so I think I'll be waiting a long time if I ever will be able to own another pit bull.

Wow,I am ashamed to call myself an Ontarian, those moronic Liberals can naturally not show the public, that a Pit-Bull are no different from any other dog,as long as he is loved and taken care of,the way all dogs should be.
Junior is a wonderful,beautiful pittie.

I agree Junior is a wonderful ambassador for the breed as are thousands of others. But being in the public eye, of course except in our ignorant province lets people see how great they are and not aggressive and ticking time bombs

I think he would have made a big statement by not touring Ontario at all.
But thats a whole lot of money he would have lost lol

he talks about pitbulls while in ontario and the reason he says he does that is because he'd like people to realize that "breed" is bottom of his list of three.

1. species-animal
2. dog-
3. breed

things should be thought of in that order, he had a very nice touching tribute to Daddy. man...brought you to tears.

As much as I know many people really enjoyed seeing him and going to his thing, the few people I knew that went, would have travelled to Quebec to see him.

The statement he would have made by not entering Ontario and the revenue lost by it would have been extremely bold

We have been telling people to write in and say that they would not enter Ontario on their travels or spend a dime here but truthfully what does one family travelling through really generate? Ceaser on the other hand, his tickets would have been charged Ontarios beautiful HST, the cost of renting the venue ect... Could have really made a stir in our fight.
