It doesnt seem to hurt her but it's been there for about 2 months now and hasn't gone down. Anyone know what it could be or have any experience with them?

This is the best closeup I could get of it

Tristaj82, I think you would be wise to let a vet take a look at that, just in case it's what our red cattle dog had, a mast cell tumour, although it's not as angry looking as hers. They are supposedly more common on red and golden dogs. Susie's didn't appear to be bothering her either and was situated on her back. We had it, along with a mammary tumour, removed.

I agree, Tristaj82! If it's been there a couple of month now, it's definitely time to have it checked out by a vet. At the very least, you'll get some peace of mind if it turns out to be nothing. And if it's going to be trouble, best to find out what it is early!

I also agree's definitely something that needs to be seen by your vet. Good luck and please post with an update. :fingerscr :goodvibes:

Thanks so much hazelrunpack, goldfields, and rainbow. Went to the vet today. From aspiration looks like basal cell tumor. Planning to get it excised sometime soon. Will be an unexpected expense ($500-$700) but she is worth it. Wish us luck!

Whew! Glad you went in then! I hope the surgery goes well and her recovery goes smoothly! :goodvibes: Keep us updated on Fluffy's progress, please!

That's good, sooner it is gone, the better. Wish you lots of luck and many more years with her.

Update guys:
I wanted to let you know Fluffy's histopath returned as a trichoblastoma. This is benign and arises from the hair germ of the developing follicle. It was completely excised.

Thanks for all your help!

Trista, great to see Fluffy looking so bright and unblemished now. I'd always worry with a thing like that that the dog might knock or scrape it , especially if it had continued to grow. Pats for your girl.

Glad it turned out to be benign! She's looking great! Love the smile in that last pic! :D

Glad to hear you got the lump removed and that it was benign. :thumbs up

Beautiful girl. :lovestruck:
