New Jersey may soon pass an initiative that would allow hunters to begin hunting feral cats. Take action!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, GG. How sad that this kind of inhumane practice is still allowed in some places in 21st century America.
TNR has been proven to be the most humane and effective way to control the feral population. Other methods are not only inhumane but they do not work. If a feral population is removed from an area by other means, others ferals simply move in to replace them and the endless cycle continues.

After reading this I did a little bit of googling and found that hunting of ferals is legal in certain other states such as South Dakota and Minnesota. There may be other places in North America where this is legal but I wasn't able to find data in a quick google search. In 2005 the government of Wisconsin tried to put through legislation to allow hunting of ferals but thankfully it was successfully blocked. Hopefully this legislation in New Jersey will also be blocked.
