I have had my dog for 1 1/2 yrs. He had no problem during that time ever getting in the back of the station wagon and going in the car!
4 months ago, I notice he is panting and standing up all the time. I tint the windows and get fans, thinking he was too hot (even though it was always around 55 degrees). Come to find out it is anxiety. he even avoids going near the garage, as he knows it means the car. I have even tried having him go in the front or back seat and he is worse! He shakes and just jumps back and forth and tries to get under the drivers side of the gas pedal.
I generally dont' leave him in the car with exception of a trip to the grocery store on the way home after he has run for 2 hrs. I am thinking that someone must have taunted him (before I had the windows tinted).
So now I coax him in with hotdogs. I have him sit and then he gets the treat. But he jumps right back out. I am at a loss on how to get him back on track. The only other thing is that I got new tires and they are not like the old ones that absorbed every bump and noise.
I sit in the back every day and make him jump up to me. I have cleaned and checked for anything poking. I am at a loss!
