It's that time again...

for our local Purina Walk for Dog Guides which is put on by the Lions Club of Canada. The walk helps raise funds for the training and placement of Dog Guides for Canadians with visual, hearing and medical or physical disabilities. All Dog Guides are provided at no cost to qualified applicants. Thanks to our national sponsors 100% of the funds raised at the Walk go directly to the Dog Guide training programs. The Foundation does not receive any government funding. Dog Guides Canada has already provided their specially trained Dog Guides to more than 1600 men, women and children from ages four to 88. With your help more people experience the mobility, safety and independence a devoted Dog Guide partner brings.

Thank you! I just wish they would promote it in our area better. I sometimes seem to have to go looking for information about when it will be and this year I stumbled across the pledge forms at my vets office a couple of weeks ago. One of the Lions Club members did just email me today too, I'm not sure if it's because I've participated in the past or because I've also loaned out dogs for other people to walk. Not like I have a shortage of dogs :laughing: I think I need to have a talk with them about promoting it more, they need to get more people involved not just the same ones as previous years.
