As I took the dogs outside last night , I almost stepped on this bug , sorry about the bad pictures , maybe I should have tried the macro thingy ... anyway , it was bigger than what it looks like in the picture. Like an obese beetle :p it was pretty cool but didn't bring us any entertainment as it refused to move for us

so Bendy , what the heck is this bug ?

Oooh, nice one! It's a Grapevine Beetle, Pelidnota punctata. It's a very pretty beetle in the scarab family. :thumbs up

Are they rare ? Can I get any money for it ?

Weird because , I've been here almost 6 years and this is the first one I see

lol I was gonna say it looks a lot like our June beetles...and I guess that's one of its other common names according to that bugguide link, bendy :thumbs up Ours are usually a bit darker, though. We have lots, Frenchy. They make sort of a creepy noise when they fly. :p

June bugs are pretty silly when they fly around bumping into everything and they do have a bizarre sound when they bomb dive your head! :D

 That's a sign, Frenchy, you need to plant some grape vines and make wine :lightbulb:
