Byron and Friend ;)

I was up at Sun Peaks on July 2nd/3rd, and took Byron with me :D I got some nice pics of him actually playing with Pharrel :D Anyone have any ideas of what breeds Pharrel may be? To give you an idea, Byron is 21" tall and 40lbs, Pharrel is a wee bit taller and definitely heavier, but overall nearly the same size. Her owners are sure she's a wolf (:laughing::laughing:), but of course we know better ;)

I see husky in her, but wolves have yellow eyes don't they?

Just love to see two pups having a great time.

And Sun Peaks :cloud9::lovestruck::cloud9::lovestruck:, just love it there.

Hehe, thank you :D Byron loves it up there, though we likely won't be back as my folks will be moving from there soon. I actually learned a lot about wolf and wolfdogs, including that defined marking, blue eyes and curled tails are not a part of wolf DNA, so unless she was extremely low content, she like has no wolf. She def has husky of some sort ;) She's got the aloofness, howl and look, lol. Not sure what else she may have in her, but she's gorgeous anyways :D

:D They did indeed have fun! It was the first time that Byron actually played without hesitation. He loves her and loves to play with her. He actually wore her out, since he just kept running and she got tired after 2 hours ;)

Will Byron be able to see her again ? :(

It's unlikely. She belongs to the folks who own the property - their bank foreclosed and they will be moving even further from here. It's unfortunate, but I am hoping to meet some decent playmates soon :)

They do make a lovely couple!!! Byron is getting to be such a handsome dude and Pharrel is such a gorgeous girl! You can see the magic between them! :lovestruck: Good chemistry :D

Such a shame her folks fell on hard times and have to move further away. :(

She looks like Golden crossed w/Malamute - look at the ears, the tail is more plumed than a Malamute it's more like a Goldens, plus in the 3rd pic you can see where the fur on her back is parted it's fairly long & not really thick that's the longer fur of a malamute or golden, a Sibe's fur is shorter than a Mal & isn't going to lay across the back that long. The stockiness of the front legs also says Mal more than Sibe. Sibe females top out at 22" where Mals are upto 24" at the shoulder. Blue eyes is a fault in a Malamute and not common at all, so she could be Mal/Sibe/Golden but I see way more Malamute than Sibe. :2cents:

Looks like they had a great time playing :pawprint:

I'd say husky, collie, shepherd mix

Thanks Growler & OBC! When I first met her I told them she was a Mal mix :) She's quite beautiful and has a good personality (provided she's given boundaries, because no one there disciplines her nor trains her, when I am over I tend to have a set of rules for how they behave). She's actually quite quiet, except when she hears something odd, then she barks and howls. But she loves attention and loves to play. I wish I could keep her, but we're already squashed with our critters, and no way would she fit ;) Plus I think I'd end up single if I brought home such a large critter ;) Her hair is quite silky feeling, not coarse at all. And they way it lays, I wonder what she's all got in her, lol. It's fun to guess though :P

On Ceasar Millan I saw a pair of Wolf mixes, they looked nothing like Pharrel, they were also bigger and had the wolf-like kind of slanted eyes.
Your Byron is a beautiful boy, looks like they had fun:thumbs up

I see alot of Mal traits as well, such as the stockiness, but she would have to have some sibe. Blue eyes aren't a fault in a Mal, they are the result of x-breeding mal/sibe. Mals have brown eyes for all colors except red. Reds have either yelllow/gold or green, but never blue. I think she is definitely mal/sibe mixed with something else, just not sure what. One thing for sure, she is 100% pure cuteness!!

They are both just adorable :lovestruck::cloud9:

Thanks Rgeurts :D She sure is gorgeous :D I wish her owners where more interested in training and utilizing her energy and intellect. Unfortunately she's stuck outside all day, never played with, never taught anything :( She's a sad girl for sure :(

How sad for her :(
Northern breeds are so intelligent and energetic. She should have a family that appreciates and nurtures it. But at least you show her the attention (and boundaries!) she needs when you're around. Are they moving far away?

And btw... you're boy is just adorable! He's has beautiful coloring :cloud9:

I agree, it is sad :( They currently live 1/2 hour away from me, and will be moving another 2 hours further, so I likely will not see her again.

Thank you for the compliment on Byron :) He's my baby, that is for sure :D I love his coloring too ;) So unique, and everyone is always curious if he's a mix or not :p
