Spatx July 17th, 2010, 02:03 PM First, a happy update! Lily and Scotia were adopted together this week! They are off at their new home with an older cat and dog. Hope their new family is enjoying them as much as I did!

Now say hello to Mike, our newest foster kitten. :D
He was rescued from a high kill shelter and was on display at a local pet store for a while, but wasn't doing too well. He's a great little guy, but definitely has anxiety issues related to cages probably due to his time in the shelter environment. He's a bit skittish with being handled because he's scared that when he gets caught, he'll be put in a cage. Were working on that, and he is improving and doing well. He and Nova-kitty really enjoy each others company! I'm still working on sneaking up on them cuddling with the camera, so far no success

I think my parents would kill me if I brought up the idea of keeping him  Even though he's been here... what... 7 months now? He's definitely turned into a longer term foster and not a single person has inquired about him :(
I don't mind if he has to stay a lot longer... (say maybe 2 or more years until I am able to move out...)

Dog Dancer July 19th, 2010, 12:19 PM Spatx what a great thing you are doing. How nice that your parents are letting you help (long term even...). They both look great.

 He is simply adorable!!! Look at that precious face. :cloud9: Has it only been 7 months? Thought it was longer than that. I would think he would be perfect as your first failed foster. :D Parents don't have to know. ;) I know someone else here that claims to her hubby she is still fostering a certain kitty.

:laughing::laughing:That's the key, tell your parents he is still up for adoption, it works

Now who would that be??, Told DH again this weekend that Rose is still up for adoption, potential adopters just have to pass a few tests and she can go with them:laughing: :p I wonder if he has figured out my plan :o
Spatx July 19th, 2010, 04:55 PM  For now I'm going to see how things go, but I think he'll still be here when I start school in September. I'm glad that at least my other fosters have been adopted so far, but Nova-kitty (who I have yet to name something different... renaming means he's staying for sure in my world!). He is a great kitty, such a people oriented cat now and he definitely has bonded to our family. My mom was in the room last night petting him, and when she got up to leave he followed her around wanting more attention,
This week I have moved into my parents basement to get some of my own space. Been busy trying to make it look more cozy and add some furniture and lamps. The cats are in my room right now, and enjoy sleeping on my bed at night :D He's not that great with dogs yet, but I'm working on it ;)
