After the bear raid took out most of our feeders and left us with only a double shepherd's hook to hang feeders from, I had to come up with a new feeder arrangement. I took our platform feeder and looped the suet cage over the hanger to make a single unit. I hung that on one hook and another seed feeder on the other.
This made for a bit of a conundrum for the larger woodpeckers. They could no longer just fly to the suet--it was hanging surrounded by the chains supporting the platform feeder. This was going to require some problem-solving. :D
Red-bellied woodpecker sizes up the problem carefully.

"Whoopsie! But I have to be careful!"
Problem solved!
