Just a small memorial for all

May 2nd, 2010, 04:15 PM
Feel free to add your pet(s) name(s).

I wrote your name on a piece of paper,
but by accident I threw it away.
I wrote your name on my hand,
but it washed away.
I wrote your name in the sand,
but the waves whispered it away.
I wrote your name in my heart,
and forever it will stay.

Brownie - April 2010 :(

Flaps(Cocker Spaniel),Bizzy(bitzer), Scottie(Fox Terrier) and Kim(Collie cross).(dogs from my childhood)
Tammy(first sheltie)
Snoopy (ACD)
Couldn't leave one of them out, loved them all and if they were reared here they stayed until they died of old age or things beyond my control. Still had enough love to fall for every old dog I ever met, I just love oldies. What a reunion I'll have later. :lovestruck:

I read your poem and replaced "your name" with Bailey and it made it that much more sentimental.

Thank you 14+!

It's not "my poem" this time. I was sent it in an email. I just thought it fit well for a small memorial for all the great pets we were privileged to love in our lifetime. :cloud9:

It is good to remember and to heal.

I can't add to this list, it's breaking my heart. I'm in tears just reading the first couple of posts. The babies know who they are and that they were loved each and every one.

Oh my friend, not the reason for this thread at all. :grouphug: It is sad but it is uplifting as well. I love that little poem.
I was cleaning out the litter boxes last night and the tears just started coming. I miss Brownie so much. He was such a trooper taking his meds every day and fighting to live like he did. I am sure with time I will remember him without the tears..

Alex, Ozzie, Nano, Wednesday - all my cats.
Blackie, Max, Ben - all my dogs.

To all the animals that I could not save from the gas chamber pound.
To all the animals that I could not save from kill shelters.

Rest in Peace my angels. I wish you a better after life to those that were not given a second chance, discarded and exterminated. You are loved and will be remembered.

Okay, today I'm not crying so easy.

Natasha - my lovely mutt girl (bordercollie x) who ruptured a heart valve at 7 years old and left us so suddenly. :candle:

Sheba - my next lovely girl (shep/healer cross) who had dysplasia and tore her ACL and had to be put down also at 7 years old. Too sad twice in a row, we felt jinxed. :candle:

Whiskers - aka Big Red, my lovely boy cat who lived 18 wonderful years inside with us and simply died of old age. :candle:

Cinder - our beautiful grey long haired girl who came to us as a farm rescue. Such a big coward you've never seen! She spent 17 loving years inside with us and passed of old age. :candle:

And not to forget Bridgette - the poodle I had as a child for so many years, the sweet girl who set my heart on having dogs always. :candle:

To all the sweet animals who have shared my life I am greatful for the time and love they gave me. RIP sweet ones and I look forward to seeing you all at the bridge when my time comes.
