Hi everyone. My friend is ready to send for his cat. I am flying her to Calgary from Toronto via Air Canada. He left me a carrier however it's not ready for a flight. Was going to cut corners and buy an approved one. Needs a special absorbant floor. A funnel water dish (re frozen water) attatched to door. Locked just before take off. Food taped to the side in case of emergency. Lot of running around, is there such a thing as flight approved carrier? This cat will not like this trip, not a good traveller.

I got in touch with air canada, my friend was making this harder than necessary. I will get an attatched bowl and pee pad from pet smart. Lock the carrier with tie wrap and attatch an airline tag. Away we go on Saturday.

Uhhhh... did you want us for anything there Marty or are ya just havin' a little  all by yerself over there?:laughing:

Seriously, you can use ANY carrier for a cat? I've heard of folks being turned away at the terminal with their dogs if it was one the listed carriers. Interesting!

So I was looking for details, as his list was incredible to follow. After the first post, I called the airline myself. It's not a big deal. Got it all figured out. I fostered this kitty for 6 weeks now, I'm sure his owner misses her.
