Suki and Daisy are BOTH adopted** Please do NOT email Lucky Rescue about them***
I"m a purebred lilac point Siamese, and my life has been pretty sad. I was left outside to have litters of kittens, even though I am very young. My kittens have been given to pet stores, and I was in a cage on my way to the SPCA. Lucky Rescue couldn't let that happen so now I am safe. I am very stressed and frightened right now and very sad at the loss of my babies. I need a quiet home with someone who understands my breed and will keep me indoors where I belong. Can you give me a permanent and loving home that I have never known??

LR she is so pretty I love those big blue eyes. What a pretty little girl, she deserves such a good home. :)
August 31st, 2004, 03:01 PM
Isn't she stunning? Her owner left her in a cage under a cement deck for 6 HOURS before we found out about it.
She's at my house. :(

She is beautiful, I wish I lived closer to you and I would adopt her.
August 31st, 2004, 07:05 PM
I wish you were closer too! Now that Suki has had a day to overcome her extreme distress, she is proving to be a little love sponge, who wants pets and more pets!!
She will be spayed and vaccinated prior to adoption, and needs to gain some weight, as she is skin and bones.

She is so cute. I am trying to convence my husband to drive to where you are so we can pick her up. I don't know if I will suceed though as that would be a long drive back home with a cat.
I hope she find a great home. Maybe you should keep her so you can send us pictures from time to time. ;)

I told Justin that we should drive there to get her. He was like drive to Canada from IN I was like oh yeah, I will go pack! :D But, I think it is a a no go. She is one pretty baby though. :D

That window-ledge picture should be in a frame, winning awards...something. It's breathtaking!
Did you take the photo, LR?
September 1st, 2004, 01:06 PM
LR- I live in Mount Uniacke which is about 20min from Halifax. I am not a city person and would not want to live in Halifax. So our location is perfect, my husband and I both work in Halifax though.

Did you take the photo, LR?
I wish I had a camera that would take pics like that! No, my brother took them, as this cat belonged to his neighbour and he is something of a camera bug..
I"m glad to have them - great pics are everything when it comes to getting adoptions, and Suki has already had nearly 50 hits on my site.:)
September 6th, 2004, 05:27 PM
Lucky,she is extreemly beautiful,such a sweet trusting face although she's had a rough time.I know you'll keep us posted,right :D
What about the person who lost Jet?
September 6th, 2004, 07:12 PM
Guess who is coming tonight? One of Suki's kittens and apparently it looks just like her! I"m gonna have a full house!
A couple people have expressed interest in Suki, so we'll see! I'll probably have a pic of the kitten tonight. It would be lovely if someone took both of them!
Jet's owner was so upset at his death she cannot think about taking another cat at the moment.:(
September 6th, 2004, 11:49 PM
Got the baby! The reunion between her and Suki was very touching. This little girl is about 7 weeks old, and a carbon copy of mom!! It would be wonderful to see them adopted together.:)
September 7th, 2004, 02:25 AM
She is so cute!!! I hope, I hope they get adopted together!!! :)
September 7th, 2004, 07:36 AM
Oh Lucky, you just make me sick :D in a good way :D :D
Somebody must want this beautiful pair..I want them :(
I am also hoping Suki gets to keep her baby, she soo deserves it.
Sorry about Jets mom,but I understand..
September 8th, 2004, 12:41 PM
Oh...they are so beautiful...God bless them both that they find great loving homes!!! :)
September 8th, 2004, 03:06 PM
We've had a number of people interested in the gorgeous Suki, but unfortunately NOT the right homes for her.:(
She's SO happy to have her baby with her, and the bellowing and howling has stopped!!:)
September 12th, 2004, 03:45 PM
I"m very excited! Today a lovely lady came to see the girls, and she sounds like the perfect home. No kids, no dogs, owns her own home and has two Siamese, so the growling and howling didn't bother her.
All that's left is the homecheck tomorrow, and if it goes well, Suki and baby have a home!! :D
September 12th, 2004, 05:06 PM
That is so awesome Lucky!! Keeping fingers crossed!! :D
September 12th, 2004, 05:26 PM
Wonderful,Lucky all kinds of good vibes for beautiful Suki and her baby.....
I also hope the lady knows,it's not going to be easy introducing Suki to her other Siamese cats, but I am sure you'll give her some pointers :D
September 13th, 2004, 05:31 PM
Homecheck done! :) Perfect home! The only way it could be more perfect is if there were no other cats in the home. Lovely home, window seats everywhere for kitties, and kind and quiet lady who lives alone.
Suki gets spayed Wednesday and she and her baby will go straight from the vet to the new home. My girlies are going to be very upset, but this is the last move for them. :D
I'm going to miss this sweet and beautiful babies a lot. :(
September 13th, 2004, 05:41 PM
Awww Lucky that's great, but I can understand how you feel, unfortunately you cannot keep them all :( But you are the bestest :D for finding them a home and caring for them.My absolute hero :D
September 15th, 2004, 10:57 PM
Thank you Chico. My beautiful girls are gone.:( Their new mom was so excited she bought me a sweet little gift and showed up early.
Hope it will go well for these babies.
And the EXTRA good news is that we were able to save and adopt out 4 of Suki's other babies. :D
September 15th, 2004, 10:58 PM
That's great news!!!! I'm so glad you were able to find a home for them :)
September 15th, 2004, 11:13 PM
Chatocat, we have ANOTHER Siamese mom and her 3 kits, who DESPERATELY need a home! They've been in a cage at the vet's for weeks now, and are going nuts there!
You can see them HERE (http://www.petfinder.org/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=3260067&adTarget=468petsgeneral&SessionID=414904943379b2ef-app4&display=&preview=1&row=0&tmpl=&stat=) and if you know of anyone who may want them, please direct them to us!!
September 16th, 2004, 07:58 AM
LR, actually, I have 3 e-mails from people looking for kittens. If we don't have the kitten they want, I will send them your way :)
September 16th, 2004, 11:37 AM
Thank you! These babies badly need to get out of the isolation room at the vet!:(
September 16th, 2004, 12:17 PM
LR, you will find with me I don't mind helping other rescues. For me, it's about finding loving and responsible homes for all of these cats/kittens. I'd gladly send anyone your way who is looking for a cat/kitten that we don't have in hopes of helping to get them adopted. :) Besides, you have done so much for me that I'm thrilled to be able to help you in some way :) Have a great day!!

I had emailed LuckyRescue about the momma cat, mistakingly thinking it was from that rescue center. I am new to this Board so thought she posted that picture. Sorry Lucky!!! I wanted to adopt her but I live too far.
That said, I wonder what others think of my quandry. I am searching for a Siamese and especially a special needs one. The irony for me is that I can pay $500 to a breeder - and there are two here in New Brunswick - and reserve a kitten - or I could look at a rescue group. Siamese Rescue in the US has a wonderful service known as Meezer Express through which they would get the cat to me (after I paid various fees of course - not as much as $500 but several hundred) But what is money when you are saving a life!!!
But there is no Meezer Express in Canada, sigh
I have been approved to adopt a meezer in Boston - where my sister lives - and may have to fly there to pick one up. There are no Siamese available it seems in the Maritimes (one was available in Halifax , a geezer Meezer who would have been a fine companison but someone adopted him while I was conversing about the cat showed here ).
So, does anyone know of a Siamese that needs a good home?
I may just give in tomorrow and reserve a kitten from a breeder but why can't we have a Meezer Express and save Siamese here?
Thanks for listening to my frustrations!!
Keep up the good work!

Cyberkitten, the other Siamese mom with the blind eye IS our cat. We have no foster homes, so she and her kittens are boarding at our vet.
This is the one we are discussing, right?
I just sent you a new PM.:)
September 22nd, 2004, 10:55 PM
Yes it is! Thanks. I was reading the Board and being a newbie here, got confused. So sorry!!!
I just discovered a web site in Manitoba that is a Siamese Rescue. I wrote them an email about perhaps starting a Meezer Express here.
Their site is here:

Thought I would drop a note on this thread...
I'm looking for a young adult female cat, that is good with dogs and kids. I miss my old boy. The dogs have ALWAYS had cats around...very cat friendly.
I would love to have a Siamese, but would take a mix...i just love "pointed" cats...beautiful animals! :)
I feel the same...i've tried the pound, but they don't know the history and temperaments of the animals there, and am really really wanting an indoor cat...as we don't live in an area suited for outdoor kitties! With 3 kids, its hard to guard the door. My kids are very gentle, have been brought up with animals ALL their lives...dogs & cats (and two lizards, too). All my dogs & cats have been rescues in some form or fashion :)
As i said in the other thread, i thought i'd be ok about not having a cat..but its just not right without one! Something is def. missing!
I hope to hear from someone about a kittie that needs a loving home :)

Have you tried any of the Siamese rescue groups?
Siameserescue.org has a Meezer Express where they will attempt to get a Siamese to you. I was thinking of adopting one there but it is a US based operation and then I found the Manitoba operation. Currently, though, I am working on trying to adopt Mama Siamese. (The airfare is the biggest issue at the moment but there is a direct flight from Montreal to where I live so she could be in my arms in just over an hour).
Good luck in your search. Siamese are wonderful critters, regal and vocal and oh so smart!!

About Siamese cats - I had never known one or even seen one up close until I fostered Suki and Mei. I had heard negative things about them, and was prepared for horribly noisy, snarky animals.
I was so surprised to find them to be very very sweet, gentle, affectionate and SMART! I just fell in love with them and would have LOVED to have kept both of them. :(
Suki does have a peculiar cry, and sounds very much like a baby crying, but the only time she yowled a lot was when she first came here and was frightened and had just lost all her babies. She also did not like being alone, and would cry when I left her. She loved being fussed over and talked to, and was adorable in every way! And of course, her beauty didn't hurt either. :)

Yes, Siamese are incredibly smart!! That is one of the reasons they can get into trouble. They need human companions who will make time for them and give them much support. They are very loyal and get lonesome quickly and their intelligence leads them to find ingenious ways to gain attention. They get very attached to people.
If you've read any of the Lillian Jackson Braun books with the Siamese Yum Yum and Koko, she describes many of their characteristics. And of course who cannot forget DC in That Darn Cat!
My sister has two Siamese and they like to follow you around and speak to you. They of course are certain you understand them and tell you in no uncertain terms when you get it wrong, lol
I think that is one reason they are such a popular breed. They are sweet, lovable and very very intelligent!!

Thought I would give a happy update for a change! The lady who adopted the girls sent me a Christmas card and enclosed beautiful pics of two very spoiled looking and contented Meezers!! :) I just LOVE happy endings!!
November 28th, 2004, 10:32 PM
They look sooo happy... very good ending for a change! :D
November 28th, 2004, 10:43 PM
Oh thanks so much for this Lucky!! They do look spoiled and well cared for! The way regal Meezers should be accustomed to!! :)
