9-Year Old Sheltie Passes Away Rather Suddenly

My sister's 9-year old sheltie passed away this morning. She seemed to be in good health until a week ago when she didn't seem too interested in eating. Has anyone else experienced a sudden loss like this? What could have been wrong with her for her to pass so quickly?
Thank you so much.

I am so very sorry for your and your sister's loss. :candle:

It may have been his heart, it may have been aneurysm ~ the only way to know for certain what caused the end is an autopsy.

:grouphug: I'm so sorry to hear about your sister's dog.

Besides aneurysms, there is also a type of cancer called a hemangiosarcoma. It's a very vascular tumor that eventually bursts open and the dog bleeds out internally. Typically, the only signs are lack of appetite toward the end and then sudden death. But as MMM says, the only thing that would answer the question for sure would be an autopsy.

My thoughts and prayers are with your sister during this difficult time.
