Update on Buddy

Buddy spent another day at the vet on Friday and he is now up to 11 units, once a day injection. We are taking him back in 2 weeks for another glucose curve. We are still getting used to the injections and eventually, I imagine we may/will do our home monitoring after we feel we can master the glucometer. Buddy still has good days and bad days and we are seeing signs of our >little man> starting to come back to normal.

To my dismay, he peed in our bed in the wee hours on Saturday. This is the very first time that he has an accident in the house. I am thankful it didn't reach the mattress and the mattress cover, sheets, duvet, duvet covers, top blanket and their respective blankets are all washed and smell nice now:).

Because of his reduced eyesignt, he still has problems with going out at night and daddy has taken to taking him in his arms and put him on the deck and Buddy now responds well to the >pee> command. He has only had a couple nights where daddy didn't have to take him out in the middle of the night but we are committed to go along with it and hope this too shall pass.

Sounds like there's some improvement, despite his accident. :goodvibes: for continued improvement!

They do make waterproof mattress pads--we use them because we have a couple of girls with spay incontinence and although the problem is well-controlled with meds, there is still an occasional accident :o
