This video shows a lady who says to be a rescuer for dogs but is actually just out to get money.

This makes me sick to my stomach.

Is there enough information to report that woman to the BC Animal Rescue or provincial SPCA?

oh my god, I wonder if the LA rescues know about her???

I think a few people have reported her, she has a fake name. Some peoples dogs who they bought off her have died and some have needed hundreds of dollars in vet bills. It's so sad for her to exploit animals this way.
I'm actually quite mad at the Petsmart -they should've done a better background check then to let some person without proper parperwork sell dogs at their store.

Or the Heigl Foundation?

That's just plain terrible.

I've contacted the Heigl Foundation with a link to that video.

I think she lied about all the places that support her "rescue group". She said she's affiliated with the BCSPCA as well, which I'm sure is 100% crap.

She's a scam artist.

yes my friend was telling me about her too. Its so disgraceful that people like this are out there pretending to be a part of something that we believe so deeply in and work so hard at . Really disgusting

I saw the video on YouTube! Nothing short of disgusting if you ask me. How dare she call herself a rescue! I see she is also listed as a member of Brindleweb. Brindleweb is for people that have ethical "RESCUES"! People that actually care about the animmals. There has to be a way to get her taken off of that I would assume? I for one have been telling everyone I know that works in rescue and they will inform everyone they know that works in rescue. She needs to be shut down! What a disgrace!

What a shady character :frustrated: yet another "Legend in her own MIND" On her facebook she has 40 groups and 1342 fans - many rescues. Do people not do their homework when they involve themselves with transport/surrendering to other groups? Crosspost and ship dogs anywhere with anyone then forget about them?

ok, I've found the daily newspaper for her town and have sent them the video, links to her facebook and website, wrote them a message all about it, I also found a few radio stations and tv stations in her area and am now sending to each of them also

I went to her facebook page and she no longer has "become a fan" up, its changed now to "become a friend" and she has to approve you, I was going to do like GG and post the video, guess the "rescuer" didn't like that *LOL* damn...she removed the video GG posted and blocked the rest of us ...hopefully a lot of her friends got to see it before she removed it.

well it took me 3 hours but I finally found a contact for Katherine Heigl that the "rescuer" mentions she works with and sent her along the video

I went to her house and bought a used airline crate last year. It's a large house and had a couple (3? 4?) of rescue dogs playing in the backyard. It seemed like a real rescue. I'm quite confused about the situation. BC SPCA and LAPS (Langley Animal Protection Society) is well aware of her, she is very well known in this town.

It's said she rescued dogs from Taiwan and she was to sell the crates to send the money back to them. The Taiwanese shelter has since stopped dealings with her. She doesn't shelter the dogs at her home, their held in a barn in another city according to ex volunteers.

Since it could be perceived as borderline defamatory or libelous I'll just say there are very strong supportive voices who have been in contact with "cyber crime" against "BS aka Sparky"

Video's posted on YouTube:

She is barred from ALL PetsMarts until **** is a registered charity

It may not be illegal to import dogs for resale (brokering) but if your running a business in a fraudulent manner or misrepresent yourself then that is and apparently a nudge has been sent to Revenue Canada.

I'm worried about the dogs still in her care. But the BC rescues wow their all out full force, someone already has or it's planned to send authories to the warehouses to check on them.

The 1st video has already been pulled but you seen many rescuer's from LA very happy that they were being rescued, everything was paid by them and donations they collected. Many even came with extra donations attached to them for vet bills ... so sad

People like this make the rescue word dirty

That is a very unfortunate situation.

However, I think it can change. Recently, the puppy mill Doggie World was run out of Langley and shut down permanently due to the sheer number of protests in the local paper and outside the business (this is the same town that Cold Noses Warm Beds is in).

Perhaps the same can happen here.

Perhaps the same can happen here. There's always hope for change :thumbs up I believe Doggie World closed it's doors due to a parvlo outbreak, sadly many puppies died. The Major is working with the SPCA & LAPS and drafting new by-laws (1) banning any future pet stores from opening and (2) to regulate the current ones :goodvibes:

The city of Langley has surely been in the news alot lately. Hopefully "every dog will have it's day" ;)
