Lazy Lucy

January 14th, 2010, 08:56 AM
Lucy cat has lost two babies this past year and now months later she has swelled boobies and she drips blood spots. she feels like she is pregnant but this has been going on for 4 months and she keeps looking at us purring and twittering loud until we lap her and pet her to death. Now she licks her self and seems to be sore when she is trying to turn around to lick herself. What could be wrong, could she be pregnant this long?

Becky, gestation in cats is less than 4 months, so she could not be pregnant this long. Can you get her to a vet quickly? It sounds like there could be something seriously wrong with your kitty and only a vet is going to be able to tell you for sure.

I agree with Hazel: this is a serious medical emergency. I would be on the phone with your vet right now and arranging an appointment for TODAY. Good luck with your kitty, please let us know what the vet says.

Gestation for a cat is 60-63 days, there is something wrong with your cat and needs to see a vet. Sending some :goodvibes: your way.

Please keep us updated

She sounds like she is pregnant again, but no it does not go on for 4 months. Is it possible she got pregnant later than you think? It's possible she's having a "false pregnancy" as her behaviour seems like it, but whatever is going on here a vaginal discharge if she is not pregnant is worrisome as it could be pyometra. She should be examined by a vet.

Unfortunately our members are not vets and unable to address potentially serious health issues like this one. Time is critical - please contact a vet immediately. Good luck, we'll watch for an update on your pet's condition. In keeping with site policy, this thread will now be closed.
