Just wondering

August 26th, 2004, 04:53 PM
Wish I could talk to my dog Buddy the way that Stanley Coren does in his books. Just wondering why a dog will defacate in one part of the yard for awhile, and even though I clean up after him, he will then choose another part of the yard for the next week or so, and then on to the third part and so on. I have not had him long enough to know if he will start the whole cycle again and go back to the first area for awhile. Any thoughts?

Our dog was like that. Our new dog, won't poo in the yard. I have to take her for a walk every evening so that she can do it. I don't know if it's because we scoop it up right away or what.

Well, I guess would we want to play where we pooed? :p ;)

Meat Loaf is so funny he will poop in the yard but he like to poop when he is on a walk as well. He walks around and smells until he finds the right place than he will turn his back to us like please mommy and daddy stop looking at me. (Man not privacy around this place) And than he will finally go. It is so funny because you would think just find a place a poop but no it has to be perfect.! LOL :D

His show is called Good Dog! and its on the life network, channel 33 here in Calgary, not sure in Ontario. It is a Canadian show, so not sure if our US friends get it!! It's on here really early in the morning, so we tape it!!

Good Dog! is a wonderful show!!! I've gotten quite a few good tips from him myself. Definately worth looking for in the TV Guide!

:D I watch his show, and I tried one of his tricks, didn't work, so now I just watch and listen. About the pooping, my dogs go in the corners (close to the fence) of my back yard, one day it's this corner, that afternoon, the other corner...just pick a corner and look for the poop, it's there. Never where they play. :p

I didn't know he was a specialist on here...thats totally cool!!! He has some good pointers, and some that may or may not work, depending on your dog & situation but he tries!!!

Brick just poops where ever!!! No rhyme or reason for his choices!!! Although he save one or two poo's for our walks!! Lucky me!!! :D

WOOF! it's by Matthew Margolis aka "Uncle Matty"

he's SO good with dogs you'd think dog's can fly a plane with his advice.

i think his show beat's out any doggy training show out there..
this guy really Knows his stuff a True professional in his domain..

I like Stanley Coren's show too, they should air it in the evenings, not in the morning when we don't have time or just sleep! :D
