Great threads SSAC!

Ozzy is awesome! When we saw him in concert, he opened with vintage War Pigs (old black sabbath days) it actually gave me chills!

We were going to go see him this year because he was going to be only 30 minutes from us but everywhere I inquired about tickets they said they weren't selling any because it may have been cancelled? And they didn't know yet.... I don't even know if it's going on now or not. I'm so jealous!

Edited to add..
I just looked it up and he's already been here it looks like!! Darnit!!!!

heidi, alice in chains, oh so dreamy. i feel old at the moment because i dont know any of the modern pop music, it is boring if you ask me. every chick sounds the same. what happened to the sounds of such talenet like- ween, dinosaur junior, NOFX, JANES ADDICTION (true legends i love perry farrel *kisses*), porno for pyros, even a good bit of nirvana (big *snif*)
i love most music though, from dance to classic. yesterday i listened to 5 CDs which were-
paul mcartney-the collection
glenn miller and his orchestra-4 box set
oh the sexy, talented and sadly missed jeff buckley-grace (10yrs anniversary of grace) *snif*
jimi hendrix-voices
ministry of sound-1998
so most sounds i can live with
BUT i will die if i have to ever listen to commercial radio, safe to say anything played on commercial radio melts my brain.
do you guys know of AC/DC- were they ever big over there, now they are just huge legends also. :D

Melanie, Love your selection.. I like all types of music. I was suprised to see NOFX in your list. I love punk and calssic rock. Love metallica, Chris Cornell from sound garden (sexy voice does it for me alone)... Incubus is great also and I dont think I know of a sexier man alive than Brandon Boyd (lead singer). Bad Religion is a good punk band that alot of people who dont listen to that type of music can enjoy. I LOVE Pink Floyd and the Doors. I get made fun of for some reason for liking Journey. lol.. Led Zepplin is one of the greatest rock bands of all time though, cant beat the music and the vocals with them. O and cant forget Guns and Roses, good stuff.

Now you're talkin' Dreams! Clapton - yeah! Journey - I was sooo a fan in my youth! What, no Santana groupies?? What about Rush? Colin James? Oh, there HAVE to be some Stevie Ray Vaughan fans out there!! I think someone mentioned the Tragically Hip in another thread - there's another great one. Sorry, I can only take punk in small doses, and I don't know the names of any of the bands or songs, much to the dismay of my 14-yr-old nephew. Sorry to offend all the "commercially opposed" folks out there, but I absolutely adore Matchbox Twenty. Rob Thomas ... Mmmmmm ... Went through a country kick a few years back, but it just depressed me, so now I stay off the "all country" stations and get my kicks in smaller doses. Although I'm not (really) ashamed to admit that I own almost all of Garth Brooks's CDs! :D

My favourite bands include: Bon Jovi, Pink Floyd, Tragically Hip, Big Sugar. Lots of stuff like Poison, Def Leppard too. I saw Pink Floyd at the Pontiac Silverdome (Detroit) when Division Bell came out. Amazing! I have seen the Hip a couple times in Detroit. Saw Bon Jovi in Detroit and Toronto. The ACC show rocked! I also like Gordon Lightfoot. Enjoy the Beatles too. Being 31, I would say I have a diverse taste.

I dislike country, and most rap/hip hop stuff too.

Recently Ive been taking a liking to The Beach Boys lol. I heard one song the other day and have been playing them ever since. Their music puts me in a good mood. I hear you heidi, when linkin park played they had to stop the show for a few min because some guy fell and nobody stopped to help him ( in the mosh pit) they had to bring in a stretcher to carry him out and linkin park gave the audience hell for not helping the guy. It can get pretty scarey when there is that many ppl jumping around you.

Good Thread :D fun thread

Soul (new and old school), Hip Hop, R n B, Reggae mostly, some Rock. I listen to and play music that I feel. Playing guitar and singing gives me a musical outlet (betcha didn't know that about me huh huh ;) )

We're a musical family, almost everyone has atleast one instrument or more.
Which makes family and friends gathering special, and lots of fun.

OnlyInMyDreams
August 27th, 2004, 09:16 PM
hey Luba, I play guitar too, what kind acoustic or electric?

[QUOTE=Luba]We're a musical family, almost everyone has atleast one instrument or more.[QUOTE]
So are we! Well, sort of. Dad was quite musical, and Mom could sing like an angel. The 3 boys got their musical instruments (1 plays guitar, one plays bass and the 3rd plays drums). They're all quite good - I believe the bass player actually won some accolades for the best bassist in Montreal or Quebec or something like that in his youth. Anyhow, the two girls didn't get instruments. We were too busy doing things like washing the dishes and making the beds (darn European values). It was probably for the best, though, because we were always daydreaming of forming our own little Partridge Family. Out brothers would have been forced to resort to violence if we ever learned to play an instrument or sing... :D
