i think that way of tally much more appropriate, adding up individual golds, than just the number of events we won gold in. so instead of saying 1 gold for the australian 4x100m relay, we actually got 4 as all the gals got one each and the above tally accounts for that.. ooooohhhhhhhh i looooove gold medals. and i esp love national pride and identity, makes me all warm and fuzzy. how many times i have cried this olympics, you just get so involved and fell so happy for the winners, it is so heart warming..and considering all the aussie drug scandles, we are bloody lucky to get a medal.

but did you see the aussie rower the other day that just stopped rowing 600m from the finish, the other 8 in the team could not carry her and lost although they were in a medal win position, she said she hit the wall and couldnt go on, the team threatened to drown her etc for it as it was not the first time she did it. boy it has hit the fan over here on that one. many ppl here think to give up is very unaustralian, it is a traditional sentiment in our country, and everyone is giving it to her. so now other teams and countries have backed her saying australians are being mean, boy oh boy what a mess. and now we look the international *******s (only a matter of time for that one really :D ). but it makes me wonder how she got on the team in the first place, she had given up before so it makes one question the psychological testing used in oz. i dont know if it is her fault, or more the fault of the officials who put the team together, oh boy what a mess.

now did you see the american boys before their runs, wow talk about psyching the op out, they are really an entertaining bunch and it must give them the world of confidence. but im not sure about all that sunglass sponsorship, looks a bit daggy at night.
oh i love gold, i love great triumph of the human spirit and i love national pride :D :D :D
c'mon aussie c'mon, c'mon- c'mon aussie c'mon
aussie, aussie, aussie, oi,oi,oi
