The more I look at the image below, the more comical it gets . . . . . and I like the colours too.
On a lakeshore walk, Keeper and Abby take a tentative step out onto some very thin, early winter lake ice, staring intently at a particular spot. Lest you think I'm a bad dog daddy, they seemed to instinctively know not to go further (and didn't) while I was there to make sure that was as far as they advanced. A few minutes later, a pair of muskrats surfaced in the open water in the distance . . . . and I think those rats were right where Keeper and Abby were staring, hence the unusual fixation.

Below, we were actually cruising the prairie and avoiding the lakeshore, as Keeper pauses for reflection. . . . .

Below, some might remember a few years ago when Abby and Keeper were pictured hovering over a prize find, the picked-clean bones of an elk . . . . . well, Abby found the same site yet again and the bones had been much reduced but were still there.

Below, same scene, from a few years ago, the Spring revealing it's winter treasures . . . . . in each case, we lingered only a few minutes.

Below, some storm-tossed, early season ice . . .

Below, earlier today, coming down from Nihahi Ridge in K-Country, west of Bragg Creek.

Below, down in the valley again, Abby contemplates a crossing of the Elbow River . . . . . not a good idea and a retreat was soon ordered.
