hazelrunpack November 2nd, 2009, 11:24 PM October 30 was the 5th anniversary of the arrival of Princess Lil Belle, Ms Muddy Mossy Messy Macie
and Lady (in Waiting) Ridge at Hazel Run.
59566
And Halloween was the Sheriff's 7th birthday (a very lucky number of years to be :dog:).
This all meant, of course, that there was a pawty in the works...
The Sheriff wanted to sleep in on his birthday, so the Hazel Run Daddy brought his birthday cards over
and held them low so Cole could read them, too.
59565
Then it was time for a good hearty breakfast and the first of the day's patrols.
Because even on a pawty day, the Sheriff and his Deputy never miss their morning rounds. :D
59567
hazelrunpack November 2nd, 2009, 11:29 PM Finally the morning's duties were done and the Pawty was declared Open.
To start off the festivities, King Ember and Amazing Grace put on a spectacular display of Synchronized Kong Chasing:

59570
Even though Grace had a bit of trouble staying in synch once she hit the deep leaves,
the Synchronized Kong Chase was a big hit with the rest of the Pack.
And, of course, they all had to try their paws at it. :pawprint:
hazelrunpack November 2nd, 2009, 11:38 PM Grace led the way with an amazing leap!
59571
59572 59573
Her Uncle the Sheriff showed a fine talent for the game, as well.
Soon, the entire Pack was leaping after wayward Kongs and rolling in piles of leaves and having a fine old time!
hazelrunpack November 2nd, 2009, 11:43 PM The Sheriff enjoyed himself immensely...
59574
...as did the anniversary Girls and the rest of the Pack.
In fact, the whole pawty was a big hit and went amazingly well,
despite a small difference of opinion between Grace and Deputy Brier...
59575
59576
...which they managed to work out amicably. :D
hazelrunpack November 2nd, 2009, 11:50 PM As the party wound down, there was time for birthday and anniversary hugs on the deck.
59577
"What a wonderful party that was!" mumbled Sheriff Cole sleepily after a celebratory supper.
59578
"Sure was!!" yawned Grace. And she fell into an amazingly deep sleep.
59579
:dog: The End :dog:
luckypenny November 3rd, 2009, 12:29 AM They sure seemed to enjoy their pawty :goodvibes: :cloud9:. I love how even Ember and Grace's ears are synchronized as they're flying after the Kong :D.
growler~GateKeeper November 3rd, 2009, 12:31 AM  I love Gracie & Ember's leap into the leaf pile :D :dog: Gracie nearly disappeared into in in the one pic :o :D So much fun to be had at Hazel Run!
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 12:33 AM I love how even Ember and Grace's ears are synchronized as they're flying after the Kong :D.
Yep, they really practiced hard to get that all down pat! not
Actually, I didn't even notice how synchronized they were till I was going through the pics and Ms Macie pointed out their superb form to the HRM. :D
We went from 90% of the leaves up to 95% of them down overnight, so there were lots available to rake into huge Kong-hiding piles. The dogs love sniffing out hidden Kongs almost as much as they love plowing through leaf piles. :D
rainbow November 3rd, 2009, 01:43 AM What a blast they had.
And, they sure do love their daddy. :cloud9:

hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 10:28 AM Thanks for all the good anniversary and birthday wishes! The Pack was very fortunate in that the leaves all came down the night before Pawty Day. Made for excellent leaf piles to plow through :D
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 10:28 AM And, they sure do love their daddy. :cloud9:
Yes they do. When the HRD is around, the HRM is about as exciting as a wet dish rag!
Chris21711 November 3rd, 2009, 10:44 AM Looks like they had a blast Hazel...I like the pic of Brier looking at Grace, as much to say "gimme that kong woman"
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 10:55 AM And Grace glaring right back at him, "Make my day, Bubba!"
Chris21711 November 3rd, 2009, 11:07 AM So, who ended up with the kong?
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 11:11 AM I believe it was lost in a sneak attack by Lil Belle!
Chris21711 November 3rd, 2009, 11:20 AM Love it...I guess she thought "while you two think about it, I'll just mosey in"
Dog Dancer November 3rd, 2009, 01:42 PM Such a happy pack. My girls love to play in the leaves at the park. I shine the lazer light into it and Halo goes head first.
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 01:49 PM Halo will play with a lazer light? We've only had one dog that loved to chase lights--that was Gauge. I'd sit with my back to the french doors and reflect the sunlight off my watch crystal onto the walls and floor. Kept Gauge fascinated for hours! But none of our subsequent dogs has showed any interest...
krdahmer November 3rd, 2009, 03:38 PM :lovestruck: Looks like quite the party!!! Man would I love to come down there and roll in the leaves with the doggies!!!! :cloud9:
hazelrunpack November 3rd, 2009, 03:42 PM No ya wouldn't. :o The whole time we were raking them into piles, the dogs were peeing on the leaves. :dog:
They don't seem to mind, though. :D
Ryan48 November 3rd, 2009, 08:08 PM WoW, beautiful doggers!
RM
Frenchy November 3rd, 2009, 08:56 PM awwwwwww I love love love all the pictures Hazel ! The one with daddy and the kids is the cutest.

edwina November 3rd, 2009, 09:06 PM The pack looks like they had a great day :D
Dee-O-Gee November 3rd, 2009, 09:09 PM 5th anniversaries for Princess Lil Belle, Ms Muddy Mossy Messy Macie
and Lady (in Waiting) Ridge;
7th birthday for the Sheriff;
Daddy with the kids picture...priceless! :cloud9:
My dear...they all look so beautiful, healthy and happy. :lovestruck:
Frenchy November 3rd, 2009, 09:39 PM The Sheriff wanted to sleep in on his birthday, so the Hazel Run Daddy brought his birthday cards over
and held them low so Cole could read them, too.
 I like that one too ..... omg they are so spoiled :cloud9:
hazelrunpack November 4th, 2009, 12:06 AM Not spoiled--just appropriately pampered. :D Not to mention leaf-covered by the time they were done!
Thanks for all the lovely comments. I'll be sure to share them with the Pack when they get up in the morning. :D
breeze November 4th, 2009, 09:09 AM Happy Birthday Cole!!
and Happy Anniversary to Lil Belle, Ms Muddy Mossy Messy Macie

ancientgirl November 4th, 2009, 09:34 AM Happy belated birthday Cole!!!!
And Happy Anniversary to the girls too!
I love the leaves photo!!!
hazelrunpack November 4th, 2009, 10:40 AM Thanks, breeze and AG. They're pretty disappointed now that we've hauled all the leaves over to the compost corral, AG :o But it's lots easier to do poopie patrol now! :D
TeriM November 4th, 2009, 06:27 PM Yes they do. When the HRD is around, the HRM is about as exciting as a wet dish rag!
Awww, I'm sure there is at least one dog who prefers the HRM :D. Although maybe it is nice for the HRM to have a break when the HRD is around .
Love those pictures Hazel, especially the one with the Sheriff and Deputy on patrol and the last pic of Grace :cloud9: :lovestruck: :cloud9:.
Ryan48 November 4th, 2009, 06:53 PM I would be in heaven if I could have that many doggers. They are so sweet!
RM
hazelrunpack November 4th, 2009, 09:06 PM It can be a lot of work, but they're well worth the effort, Ryan. Once you get into a routine, things can go almost smoothly. :D
Awww, I'm sure there is at least one dog who prefers the HRM :D. Although maybe it is nice for the HRM to have a break when the HRD is around .
Okay, I'll admit that madame hazel is guilty of occasionally lazing in bed on weekends and letting the HRD take the dogs out for the first time of the day and feed them breakfast. :o
Love those pictures Hazel, especially the one with the Sheriff and Deputy on patrol and the last pic of Grace :cloud9: :lovestruck: :cloud9:.
Did you notice the truck pulling out of the easement on the patrol pic? That's the guy that owns the cabin behind Hazel Run. He comes up many weekends and the dogs never tire of giving him a properly barked greeting and a properly yapped farewell. :dog: Not sure if he's appreciative of the attention or not.
And Grace...well what can I say? Grace is just too freakin' cute for her own good. :D
