The ones you miss

I know some of you miss your past furries as much as I do....are there any pictures you'd like to share?

I really miss mine!

This is my Rusty, a westie x terrier that I rescued while on vacation in Nova Scotia. He was slated to be taken to the woods and shot dead, unwanted pup at 4 mons old. I brought him home with me on the airplane where he stayed with me for 16 years. He was a very special part of my life, and I miss him dearly.

Oh yes, this is a pic of Sammy and Peppi, they both lived long lives 17-19yrs old,in those days I did not take too many pictures, preoccupied with 3 kids, but I loved my cats no less.
I think I have a pic of Cookie my tortie too.
All three are buried between two bushes in my backyard,I still talk to them :(
Adorable little Rusty looks like he was made of silk :p

Ohh Anita, I wanted to bury Rusty in our yard like you did. But it didn't happen that way. He's in an Urn in my livingroom and I talk to him all the time.

When Sadie misbehaves I get Rusty to smarten her up telepathically so to speak.

Your kitties are beautiful, did they always get along so well together?

Thanks for starting this thread what a nice idea and I am sure we all have one or two pets that really took a part of us them on to a better place. I have one of my many favorites of Kaiger :( to whom was my black beauty, I really miss Kaiger.
Kaiger passed away in April 2004 at old 27 months old, I also decided to cremate Kaiger.

Luba your Rusty is adorable, I am sure he was very lucky to have a Mommy like you all those yrs. :)

chico2 you kids are adorable too :) I had a white cat one eyes blue one yellow what a sweetie. You sure are lucky to have your pets so long, again they were lucky to have you.

Goldenblaze, thank's the white cat in the picture is Peppi,he had diabetes but lived a loong life, the white cat I have now is Vinnie, with one blue and one greenish eye.
I have a cute story about Cookie my Tortie, sorry for changing subject!
My son Chris, then about 7yrs old(I think)used to help out in the local pet-shop,because he loved animals.
One day he called me and asked if he could bring a"friend"home...naturally I said yes.
He walked into the house looking really smug, but alone :D
Asking where his"friend"was,he said 'In my pocket' and that's how Cookie the little tortie joined our family :D
Oh,and Kaiger was a gorgeous dog,he lived less than 2yrs,that's so sad :(
Luba,yes,they always got along,Cookie was at times a little standoffish,like most females(cats that is :D )
Here you can see Peppi,Cookie and Sammy a little better...

chico2,
That is cute what Chris did ;) I bet Chris is a animal lover because you raised him that way, I know people think my mother and I are nuts and say we treat our dogs like kids.
My mother than asks how eles should I treat them? :D
I love cats and live beside a farm many cats here all friendly of course as they get lots of love and attention.
It is so sad about Kaiger that is why I must continue my battle with Paws.

Luba,

Kaiger loved that dolly best, it talked and sang to him his nanny give it to him :) He was a beautie my first Lab and won't be my last, just next time I will learn so much more before buying. :o

What happened to Kaiger, (if you don't mind me asking)? He sure was a great looking dog. And I really love that name!

So many sweet pictures posted here.

I want to share about the two I've lost, but the last time I wrote about the most recent loss, I fell apart quite unexpectedly. I am not ready to do that again, sorry. I need my head tonight.

I still cry over them. Each one was special.
#1 was stolen when he was just a year old.
#2 died in my arms at 13yrs. He had an inoperable malignant tumor. The vet came to my home after work to do it so that he could die at home.
#3 died in my arms at 18yrs.

And now we have #4! All have been similar because of the breed and color. All have had totally different personalities which stood out all the more because of the physical similarities. All have carried the name in honor of the ones before. :o

I don't mind you asking, :(
Kaiger had hereditary disease that came from his parents. The breeders told me they never had any problem in past and yet my dog had both severe HD and front joint problems. I asked my Vet in her experience what is best for Kaiger and after her researching and and viewing
x-rays she told me what she thought was best. Kaiger is watching over us all and I feel safe and content known that.
His name my husband thought of, I named our pup Blaze. ;)

I agree, very nice thread. Sad but nice.

I have pictures of two of mine that are gone now, Sassy, May 26, 2004 age 12, and Gertrude/Gertie, Oct 5, 1994, 11 months. Gertie slipped away from me at an interstate rest stop and there was nothing I could do. I found her on the highway and brought her home. That day and the day Sassy died were such sad days.

There are stories about both at this link to one of my pet pages, if you want to take a look: http://www.angelfire.com/nc2/dchomepage/page2.html

Aww Toonces,amazingly beautiful GSD...stunning!!!

DMC123,I knew I should not have read your pet-site,the tears are free-flowing :( I too wrapped all three of my kitties and they are all buried very close to each other, like they were in life.
The poem,I have on my note-board,it is so very fitting and wonderful.
I've seen Cody before,he's fantastic...like Buddha(sp?) :D
He's still with you though,right?

Sorry Chico, I didn't start this thread! but I did like it, LOL!

Yes, I have Cody, he is 13, and enjoying the senior food he is now getting!

I have 2 dogs, 3 cats, inside, and two outside boys!

But I still miss those who have gone. Just last night I teared up realizing Sassy wasn't in here with us, as she would have been.

These were posted in earlier threads but I couldn't leave them out of this one :)
This is Barney and Lindy (LtoR)
Barney passed away when I was a kid, I know he was very old but don't know the age. He was a great dog, my first. :(
Lindy I believe was 15 or 16, passed away I think 5 or 6 years ago, he was technically my mom's dog but I loved him all the same. :(
Great thread but I miss my puppies!

Yes,it's been a great thread, thinking of wonderful memories...
Thinking of my Peppi,a big white kitty, and his last year,he was soo sick..I did not want to let go,but of course I had too :(
He sticks in my mind, because his last minutes were somehow, sooo wonderful.
I know,it sounds morbid and I was certainly devastated..we let him stay in his blanket, laying on my lap when he got his last needle, his head in my hands..the look he gave me,was almost like a"thank you"I kissed him and he was at peace,no more pain....
I have a flat stone where he is buried,it says"Peppi our little angel"right beside Sammy and Cookie in my yard.I wish when my time comes,I too could go as peacefully...
Here he is,as a baby and shortly before he passed.

Well I'm a blubbering mess.... :o ...
All of them are so beautiful and God bless the little angels!

My heart breaker was a big old rabbit named Thumper, he was a little over 11 yrs. old.... I still miss him and his backyard condo....
