Homeless Kitten

Hello- I was wondering if anyone can help me out. I opened my door this morning to find a little white kitten on my doorstep. I really do not have to resources to keep her. I can feed her for the time being but as for being able to spray her and give her her vaccinations, I can not afford it. She is extremely beautiful and sincerly wish I could keep her and give her the home she deserves. She has gorgeous blue eyes and her tail, feet, ears and mouth and nose are gray. She is about 3-4 months old and is very affectionate. Its strange because she will crawl on you and start to suck on your fingers or your ears. If anyone has any information on what to do with this little girl I would appreciate it so much. I really want to find her a great home with lots of love and the resources to help her live a happy and healthy life. Does anyone have any suggestions or advice? Thanks again.

Yes, I did, I actually thought that it was someones kitten because when I brought her in I brought out a litter box that I have in my garage and bought some cat litter (so she wouldnt poop on the carpet) and she knew exactly what to do. I had cats before this and I know it took me a little bit of time to get them use to the litter box (not a lot of time but some) So Yes, I went to the next door and asked if she was theirs or if they had seen her with anyone else or had seen her around. I live in glendale arizona and I really want avoid dumping her at the shelter or the pound... I do know of a shleter that has a no-kill policy but I would much rather try to find a home for her myself. What do you think?

If you still can't find her owner, then you could foster her for the shelter. The shelters I'm familiar with supply the food and vet trips and all the other things you'd need to take care of her.

I think it's terrific that you took her in, fed her, and came here for advice. You could have just shooed her off of your doorstep and gone on about your business. You deserve credit for showing real heart, as well as for investigating options besides the shelter.

Thank you all.. Spoiled, how do I go about fostering through a shelter? I have never done anyhting like that before. I put up the posters today and Im hoping that she already has a good home but if not I would like to know what I can do. The fostering thing sounds great! She is a beautiful kitty. Thanks again everyone!

These are pics of all three of my dogs, my 2 heelers hiding during a thunder storm, my 2 kitties, and my oldest heeler curled up on the couch! :D (This will be in 2 seperate posts as they won't all fit in one!)

Luba - thanks for the information. I will definelty try to get ahold of them. i hope it works out. I still have not found the owner of the little girl. I posted more flyers yesterday and a little more ealier today. One more question : Do any of you know of any organizations near phoenix arizona that give discount spay/neutering? I would like to get her spayed, so that if I give her to anther home she will at least not be able to have more unwanted kittens. Let me know if you have any ideas/advice. Thanks again everyone! You guys are a great help!

OIMD,Thank's for thinking of having her spayed, that will certainly help her,no matter who she goes to.By your description of her she sounds like either a siamese or himalayan kitten or a cross thereof, too bad you cannot afford to keep her :(
Glasslass,Kita is a wire-haired Jack Russel,a feisty little sweetheart...just about destroyed everything in my sons apt when she was a pup :D

I know! I wish I could afford her too!! I just know how much having a pet can cost and i dont want to disappoint her when push comes to shove and shes needs me to be there for her. She really deserves a family who can give her all the treatment she will need in her lifetime, including lots of love ( I have plenty of that.. it never runs out, unfortunately the other stuff does!!) I think I may have a family who may take her in. Im still finding out about them. I want to visit their home to make sure it would be a safe place and a caring one as well! But Im not sure if that is a step to far. I just love this little girl lots and want to see her some place great! Ahhh, I think Im becoming to attached!!.. what to do? what to do?

welp.. since no one has visited me for a while.. thought I would give a bit of an update to myself ;) .. jk.. I think I found a great new owner for Frenchy (thats what Ive named her)... This women that I work with just lost her little girl of 15 years 3 weeks ago and has another one that shes had for 3 years. She tells me that her other little baby has been quite sad since the the 15 years passed. Her only concern is that frenchy should get her vacs before she comes into her home. She said she would pay for them and I will keep her in my home while the vacs do their job, so that if she does have any type of anything it wont affect her other kitty. I think this is a good sign that she is a loving pet owner is looking out for the wellfare of her pets/family members. Currently I am treating her for ear mites and we are scheduling her to get spayed. I trust this women completely (or I wouldnt even consider this). I believe she will be happy in this new home and will be loved very much. Do you guys think that I am doing the right thing? I dont want to jump into anything to soon. What do you suggest? Should I ask anymore questions? I asked plenty but maybe you can give me some that I didnt or that I forgot. Welllll.. people let me know!

Dreams,Yes,I think you are doing the right thing, the ladies concerns for her other cat and the insisting to have Frenchy spayed and vax'ed,convinces me she probably would be a good owner to the kitten.
Hopefully the kitten will also be an in-door cat and not de-clawed.
You've done a wonderful thing taking care of this little lost kitten, you probably saved her life and I thank you for that.
It will probably be heartbreaking for you to give her up,but one day you'll be able to have your own. Also since the lady works with you, you'll be able to visit and watch Frenchy grow up to be a beautiful cat, thank's to you :D
Please keep us posted, let us know what happens...
OOps,I just read your post about your dog,for some reason I thought you were a poor student who could not afford a cat :D
But it does noot change anything, you're wonderful for rescuing this little kitty!

O.. Chico2 I do have a dog, whom I can afford I just cant afford to have 2 pets. I dont want to over do myself. My dog is altered and vaxed and I would max out all my credit cards to take him to the vet if need be. I just dont think that a second animal is wise. Dont get me wrong, I am a poor student (arent we all?) lol... But I will always be there for Bear Bear, just like I have in the past (still paying off those credit cards). ;) . Im glad you think this is a good decision. I do too. I am positive that the cat will be inside. That was one of the reason she wanted Frenchy to have her vaxes because according to her, her kitty has never set foot outside since the day she got her. So thats a good thing. But as for the declawing thing, thats a good question that I did not ask. I will now! I dont believe in declawing so if that is the case I wont be sending her there. But I will see what happens. Ill let you know. :)
