Introducing our new foster, Sheba

September 13th, 2009, 10:41 PM
We took the plunge again and are now fostering Sheba::crazy:
She is 2 years old and had started to show aggression at the spca, so was in danger of being put to sleep.

We went and saw her and fell in love with her. She is so afraid, so we will have to build up her confidence. We took her to the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon and met up with Winston and Chaser. :thumbs up

She must be overtired tonight because she has just settled in for the night.

The lovely and talented Greta has decided that she will help with the training and when Sheba gets out of line, Greta gently but firmly lets her know.

She is such a tiny girl and needs to put on some weight. Hopefully, we can turn her around quite quickly and then she can go on to her forever home.

Sheba is a beauty :cloud9: It's good you have Greta's help to teach her the dog things she needs to know :) :goodvibes: for getting her ready to go for her furever home soon

Yes we got to meet the sweet little Sheba! she was such a beauty and will make someone a wonderful pup! I took a couple of picks too! she is quite petite but I am sure that Greta will teach all the good things there is to know about food! :D She didnt seem to have much fear of Winston or Chase at the walkathon. It was overwhelming even for Winston cause he started his drooling and ended up giving Chase a goober bath! not so funny really!

She is in the best place to be! Sylvie and her DH help her out and help her find her forever home! :thumbs up

here are the couple I took oh and her new friend! :thumbs up

Such a pretty petite girl. I'm glad you were able to take her in. I'm sure she'll learn the ropes really fast.

Winston, always the handsome boy. :)

Sheba is such a cutie :lovestruck: I really am amazed at how well she responds to other dogs.....I think she'll learn a lot from them!

I'm so excited for her to come to my house for a visit! Kailey can tell her all about how she used to not trust people either, but now has learned they can be really great :)

I have some pure dried duck fillets at home that I'm hoping will tempt her to get closer to me ;) Not surprising she wasn't up for me petting her with all the craziness at the walkathon though.

Winston - some grooming spray and a quick brushing took care of the goobers. No worries!

Awww Sylvie, what a sweetie! :cloud9: I am sure with yours and DH's knowledge it will be no time at all before Sheba is a foster fai......... I mean no time at all before Sheba finds her furever home. :D
:grouphug: to you mf for helping another one!!

What a pretty little girl! She looks like a mini GSD!:cloud9:

September 14th, 2009, 11:24 AM
She is petite but she is still fairly young!

Benmax I said the exact same thing!!

I dont think she will be a foster failure for Sylvie (although she loves her already!) because then there would be no more room to foster! and we cant have that! She will be a wonderful doggie for someone! :thumbs up

She definately is a cutie.

BM she really does look like a mini GSD
Aslan timbits

Can you believe they were using her as a guard dog :wall: :wall: :wall:
She kept running away.

She had another restless night, everything seemed to make her bark and of course Greta starts to talk to her. Right now the 2 or them are sleeping at my feet. Now they both look like:angel:s.

Having a little trouble with her eating. But we are working on that. Yesterday we were working on her coming to us using chicken. She loved the chicken.

I have to go feed themnow before going to work. Will try to post pictures of both of them this weekend.
