Keeper had a nice, dreamy, watery walk earlier today . . . . . it was cool and breezy, Fall clearly getting closer.

Below, yesterday, Keeper and Abby were lost in the wilderness west of Turner Valley, Alberta . . . . actually, on the descent from Windy Ridge on the Forlan Creek Trail. Our "apparent" cougar encounter, in the dead of winter a few years ago, happened just below the slope opposite on the right and this trail had a guy jumped by a cougar while another one watched. Fortunately, he was big enough to grab the cougar by it's paws, swing it around and huck it down the trail. I wish I was big and strong like that!!!

Below, Saturday, Abby was up on the aptly named Windy Peak for a chilly bit of ridge walking in the Livingstone Range . . . . . this is one of the most wind swept places you can find although not so bad this day. We were up here one time in the winter and I couldn't open the door to the Durango because the wind was pushing so hard . . . . so I took that as a sign that maybe it wasn't a good day for a walk.

Below, Keeper was there too . . .

Below, walking the spine . . . . the Hurricane Ridge fire watch station is on the far mountain. Nice walking up there too.

Below, Abby waits intently for a carrot on a breezy evening, the crabapples already full red for the Fall. Through their 11 years, Abby and Keeper have carved several pathways radiating out in different directions from where Carol is sitting.

Below, Abby and Keeper watch intently for any falling tomatoes as Carol exits the garden.
