Cats Fighting for Outdoor Territory

Our family male cat would guard our property with diligence. He was neutered (obviously) however was a dominent boy who ensured no cats would enter the 'zone'. Unfortunately he passed 3 weeks ago and since that time other cats are trying to claim the property. The aroma of cat spray is evident and it's difficult to enjoy the outdoors at this time.

Is there any natural products (as to not harm any living creature that lives under the shed - ...yep skunks which are welcomed)? We are willing to share the outdoors with all animals but the spraying is unbareable.

It is not the intention to stop animals from coming but the ones that are obviously trying to claim, we are trying to deter this behaviour. Someone had told me orange peels. Has anyone heard of this solution?

All suggestions are welcomed but we are looking for a non toxic solution of course.

BM I dont know if this will work but I was told that human hair and pet hair will keep critters from your yard. So I always empty the brushes and I brush winston outsode thus leaving his hair all around the yard! I onlt have the occasion cat come around. I think it works.

Also I know some people that use moth balls. Apparently animals wont eat them and they hate the smell....

Good Luck mf!
