creating a leash-free dog park

Howdy all! I am new to this forum today and very glad to be here. I am interested in finding any "technical" info on the lay of the land for creating a new dog park. We have the opportunity here, in London, to possibly have 3 or so more parks in the city, and my group, the London Dog Owners' Association, has a month to come up with the figures and design needs to present to the City.
The kind of stuff I am in need of is:
* How far does the park have to be from residential areas;
* How much parking is needed;
* What type of terrain is recommended.
I know it's pretty dry stuff, and I have searched a few sites, such as Hamilton Ont., but did not find any guidelines or design plans of this nature. I found a LOT on rules and regulations, but little on the physical design of parks. Can anyone suggest a site that might be beneficial to my quest?
Thanks a lot! Lezzerpezzer

Thanks alot! I had looked at the Dogparks usa site but can't cough up the $$ for the manual! Sounds thorough, but I don't hold the pursestrings. The other site in quite good too! Cheers! Lezzerpezzer
