I have a cat that won't stay off of counters and table tops. I'm thinking about getting some repellent spray but I don't know if they make anything that's safe for food preparation surfaces.

any suggestions are very welcome.

On occasion I need to use SSSCAT cat repellent to keep our cats off kitchen counter which works pretty well, but when I haven't used it for a while cats will try again. It detects cat's motion up to 1m and comes in an aerosol can & sends out a hissing mist. I have used it on my kitchen counter.

Ingredients listed in the SSSCAT brochure:
"Contains 100% 1,1,1,2 tetrafluoroethane (HFC134a) gas which is harmless for the animal, people and the environment."

To be on the safe side, good idea to clean counter with kitchen wipes or antibacterial dishwashing suds before preparing any food.
