Eagle attacks swan in midair

Now that is one optimistic eagle :eek: What could it have been thinking? If the swan fell in the water, the eagle wouldn't be able to carry it off (too heavy) or eat it without risking drowning itself. :shrug:

And yes, one lucky photographer! :D

Animals that are sick or injured tend to do things out of the norm. I am assuming theis eagle was one or both.

I am wondering if there was an eagle nest in the area and the eagle felt threatened by the swans:shrug:. A swan is much too large to be prey for an eagle.
