Soggy Dog tip

As some may know I live with poms and the occasional foster and fortunately or unfortunately they are in the river almost daily, swimming, chasing frogs etc. Well the eldest,Tiffy who is almost 8 has the thickest coat and even though she will sun bathe after her swim still remains somewhat damp, especially her undercarriage, armpits and under her ruff. I don't like to put the dryer on her daily as it damages the coat besides being too hot in this humid weather but this dampness has caused her skin in those areas to become red and irritated to the point she had become itchy so last night I clipped the irritated areas down to the skin and applied ear cleaner very lightly with a cotton ball. This a.m. the redness is gone and she's much more comfortable. There is a drying agent in the ear cleaner and it works wonders.

That's a great idea, t.pettet!! We've got some ear cleaners with drying agents, too...I wonder if it would work on irritated spots between the toes? Did it seem to sting when you applied it?

No it didn't sting her at all, she seemed relieved that it wasn't itchy anymore.
