2nd night was South Africa

There was a massive thunder & lightning storm that night, some you can see in the video, alot of the ooohs & aaahs are actually for the lightning :D

I only took a couple of pics of the fireworks cuz it was pouring & really cold by the time they started, plus I'd already gotten the camera wet trying to catch the :cool: lightning

The Final night was China
Global doesn't have any video up of China, if they do put one up I'll post it

Unfortunately for China there was virtually no wind that night so the smoke pretty much stayed right where the fireworks went off, doesn't affect the judging but sucks for viewing & picture taking

When will they be choosing a winner?

I don't know :shrug: within the next couple of days I would assume. It's a new format this year with 4 different countries competing instead of 3 plus the "Grand Finale" on the 4th night where the winner was announced that night.

I heard that they will pick the winner tomorrow.

Various countries compete at different events around the world including Montreal & Toronto, they used to call this event the Benson & Hedges Symphony of Fire but had to change the name when Canada outlawed tobacco advertising, some countries such as South Africa still use the name Symphony of Fire but sponsored by a local radio station. Vancouver nearly had to cancel the competition again this year (was saved last minute last year too) due to lack of funding but four different major sponsors stepped up for different nights plus the overall name sponsor.

So will they have a grand finale again this year :fingerscr

Nope no grand finale it's over & done with for the year, they had 4 countries this time instead of 3. The past years grand finale was just each of the 3 countries getting 10 mins on the last night to blow it all out trying to out do each other :D

What an anticlimax, though! :frustrated: They need the grand finale so they have a spectacular backdrop while announching the winner! :D
