The practice of shooting unclaimed dogs as a form of euthenasia in the city of Steinbach Manitoba's shelter is sparking outrage by animal rights activists.

The person doing the shooting with his side of the story.

I picked up on this story after the person doing the shooting and some city councillors were on the Charles Adler radio show today . . . . . not particularly defensive in any way. More like, "You stupid city slickers and your pansy pets, treating them like sons and daughters, just don't get it . . . !!!

So, are you a stupid city slicker? Or a sophisticate in the country?

(I bring this up from my perch overlooking the prairie out here southwest of Calgary.)

hmm, at least he's not shooting them down in the streets- that is what happens at a Reserve 30 mins from here- they declare "dog shooting day" and tell community members to keep their dogs inside/ tied up that day- otherwise they will be shot on sight.
In their defense- a young girl I teach was mauled by 2 feral dogs in that community when she was only 4 years old. She now has huge scars all over her body.
There's no easy solution other than Spay or Neuter your pet and don't let it roam the streets!!!

So sad, a simple surgery to spay/neuter the dogs would eliminate this problem.

:rip: Dogs, you are no longer suffering. :candle:
